MFT Teasers - Happy Thoughts

Hey all! Welcome to another day of MFT Teasers. Today I have a card that I made with last month's triple scoop set - Happy Thoughts. I love this particular sentiment, as it makes me think of the song "You are my Sunshine", so I tried to translate it into a card. The yellow papers are all October Afternoon and I used the Die-namic Sunshine in the middle. I also added some baby braddies in the corners.

As a reminder, here's what you need to know:

MFT Teasers - Emma Celebrates the Season

It's that time again - MFT Teasers have begun in anticipation for the release this Wed. Nov. 3rd at 10pm EST. Links to all the designers previewing sets today will be on the MFT blog at 11am EST today. Also, we're giving away 2 free sets today - all you have to do is leave comments on the designer's blog. The more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning!

Today I used Emma Celebrates the Season and paired her with some Teresa Collins papers. Do I possibly spy a new Die-Namic die on my card? You betcha! The Faux Crochet Border was used on some felt and is peeking out from under my ribbon. I pieced Emma's coat with some grey felt - I've been wanting to do this ever since I saw Sherrie's pea coat. I also added some baby braddies for buttons and covered her hat, muff, and boot cuffs with liquid applique. I finished it off with some snowflakes cut with the Die-Namics Let it Snow die (currently being re-stocked).
I also finished off the inside of my card - I'm loving the sentiments in this set.

Did you know that MFT hosts a Guest Designer contest each month? This is your chance to win next month's entire release and join the design team to post teasers! I'm super lucky because this month Christina and I are hosting the challenge. All the details are posted in the MFT forum and here's the sample that I whipped up using Tiny Town Halloween. I hope you'll play along!

Birthday Boy Bug

Hey all! Happy Monday to you! Hope you had a wonderful weekend - ours was super busy but good. I whipped up a quick card the other day using a Papertrey Ink set and matching die that I purchased at CHA this summer. I love how quick and easy it is to line up the stamp with the die. I paired it with some cotton twill, baby braddies, and some October Afternoon patterned paper.

A pretty simple card but a good one to add to my stash. It seems like I never have enough cards for the men/boys in my life. I'm keeping this short as my to-do list is overflowing today! Thanks for stopping by.

MFT Teacher's Pet VIP Hop

Welcome to the MFT November VIP Hop. If you're just stumbling upon this post, you'll want to start at the beginning of the hop - over on the MFT blog. The VIP kit is now on sale in the MFT store right HERE while quantities last. I'm super excited about this new Who's That Girl set as it's perfect for making cards and gifts for my kids teachers.

For my card I've used the main image from the set and paired it with some of the papers from the VIP kit - a 6" x 6" School Spirit pad. The sentiment is from the free mini Teacher's Pet Sentiments Set that's included for free in the kit. It's an exclusive set meaning it will never be sold again and is only available as part of this month's VIP kit. I also used the Notebook Edge Die-Namic for the top of my lined paper, some cotton twill (currently being re-stocked), and some Baby Braddies. The layout is from Mercy's sketch challenge.

I finished the inside off with another sentiment from the exclusive mini set and an accessory image from the Teacher's Pet set. Now I'm just trying to decide whether this is an appropriate Christmas card for my daughter's teacher or whether I'll just save it for the end of the school year. You can see below what all is included in the VIP kit - I personally can't wait to get my hands on the new Banner Strip Die-Namics die, mine's in the mail!
Don't forget that the two new à la modes that we've been showing over the last couple days are also now released and available in the MFT store here. Now you're on your way over to Susan's blog - I know she'll have something amazing for you to drool over! Thanks so much for stopping by.

MFT Teasers - What's Cooking?

Hey all! I'm back today with another MFT Teaser. I just love this à la mode which is being released tonight at 10pm EST. I enjoy baking, especially with my kids, and love giving the results away. So this set has lots of possibilities to me! And it comes with some great sentiments that make it perfect for all kinds of cards.

I layered a couple of Die-Namics on my card - the Small Scallop border die and the Perfect Bracket Edge die. I also used some crochet ribbon (the last little bit) on that same panel. The papers are Cosmo Cricket Togetherness and I added some stitching, buttons, and baby braddies as well.

The MFT blog will have links to all the designers sharing Teasers today at 11am EST. And don't forget to check back at 10pm EST tonight for the VIP hop. Thanks for reading!

MFT Teasers - It Must Be Love!

Hey all! Happy Monday to you. Today I'm sharing an MFT teaser for a new à la mode being released Tuesday night. This set is called It Must Be Love and I'm totally green with envy over her rock. I don't know why, but whenever I need to make a wedding or engagement card, I tend to reach for Tiffany colours.
I paired the stamp with some old Imaginisce paper and some grey and Cool Caribbean cardstock. I used Jen's sketch for you to try and added some flowers cut with the Rolled Flower die and some Swarovksi Clear Crystals.
I finished off the inside of the card with some stitching, the Framed Greetings die, and the Oval Chain Border die.
Make sure that you stop by the MFT blog at 11am EST for links to all the designers sharing Teasers today! And I'll see you back tomorrow for another teaser. Thanks for stopping by!

Polka Dot Greetings Mass Production

Wait - can 4 cards be considered mass production? Maybe not, but in my world it does. I'm not sure why (maybe it's the cold medicine!) but I had a hankering to make multiple cards with the same supplies. Actually, I think it's probably Jody's fault cause she did it beautifully HERE and again HERE and if you browse through her blog there's many more examples.

I kept mine simple and used two different layouts for the four cards - I just didn't have the energy to come up with four different layouts - how lame is that? Actually I've been sick since Saturday, so the lack of energy part is due to that.

I used the same supplies for all four cards - MME Alphabet Soup papers, some crochet ribbon, Earth Girl felt, Rolled Rose die (both felt and die are currently being re-stocked), and the Polka Dot Greetings stamp and die set. I used the same frame but four different sentiments.
The two cards above also use the Open Scallop Border die and the two cards below use the Small Scallop Border die.
These are perfect for my stash and the bright colours make me happy! Thanks for stopping by and for being patient with me while I get over this bug!

MFT October Greatest Hits!

Hey all! Today the MFT Creative team is doing a group post highlighting the Who's That Girl line of stamps. This is the line that drew me to MFT and I still love them! Today I chose to use Chick Flick which was sitting uninked in my collection (gasp!).

I paired my girls with some Basic Grey papyrus papers and pieced their pants with a denim patch. I also covered the popcorn bowl with a clear glaze pen and added lots of stitching. I snuck some more denim into the background after cutting it with the Die-Namic Small Scallop border die and made a rose out of some orange felt I had lying around with the Rolled Flower die. I also made some leaves using the leaf die that comes with the Flower Trio & Leaf Trio die.

I love all the little accessory images that are included in the set and stamped the tickets and a sentiment on the inside. I finished it off with the Open Scallop Border die cut from some of the same patterned paper.

Here's the different Die-Namics dies I used for my card.

Head on over to the MFT blog, and follow the links for a tour of some of the team's favorite Who's That Girl stamp sets from the past. As part of the event, we are offering a SALE! From October 12 through October 14, use the code WTG to save 15% on all in-stock Who's That Girl stamp sets. (the newest WTG, Winter in the City is excluded from this promotion)

MFT October Shop & Hop!

Hey all! Welcome to the MFT October Blog Hop & Shop! You should have arrived here via Susan's blog, but if you've just stumbled upon this post, you'll want to start back at the beginning on the MFT blog.

For my project I decided to get a jump on a couple of Christmas gifts. Ever since I saw the felt tags that Leigh made for some friends at CHA, I've been wanting to make some. When I saw Ballet Millie, I knew that I'd be making bag tags for my daughter's ballet teachers.
For the front I used Ballet Millie and paper pieced her tutu and bow. I cut the pink felt from the Banana Split collection and used the new Polka Dot Greetings die to make my opening.
I cut some strips using the Small Scallop Border Die and white felt from the Necessary Neutrals collection. The black felt is from the same felt pack and was cut the same as the pink front piece. I used the Wendy Alphabet to stamp out the ballet teachers names.
I embellished both sides of the tags with felt flowers cut with both the Perfect Petal Trio die and the Flower Trio & Leaf Trio die. I also used buttons from the Chocolate Kiss Scoop.

Remember that all the new stamps and Die-Namics dies are now available in the MFT store right HERE. Your next stop along the hop is to my friend and fellow canuck Julie. She's got some mad stamping skills and I know her project will WOW you!

Before you go....don't forget to leave comments on the blogs along the way. One of the hoppers has a MFT gift certificate to give away - but we're not telling you who. The more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning! Have a great night and thanks for hopping by!

MFT Teasers - Little Pumpkin!

Hey all! Welcome to Day 3 of MFT Teasers for the October release. It's my fave teaser day - Pure Innocence day and there are 5 new ones for this month, including a new character! Make sure you visit Kim's blog at 11am EST today for links to all the designers sharing teasers today.

This little cutie is Little Pumpkin. I just adore this pumpkin that's almost as big as she is. I used some Teresa Collins and Jillybean Soup papers and added some crochet ribbon (currently being re-stocked) and some buttons made with the new Button Quartet die.

I used Taylor's sketch challenge for the layout and I also finished the inside off with the Perfect Bracket Edge die and some more die cut buttons. I love the sweet sentiments that come with this little girl.

MFT Teasers - Fred Bear - Snow Bear!

Welcome to Day 2 of this month's MFT Teasers! All of the new sets and Die-namics dies will be released at 10pm EST on Wed. Oct. 6th. Today I have a card with the new Fred Bear set - Snow Bear. I just adore Fred's Snowbear with his scarf!
I used Jen's sketch for you to try and some Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather papers. I ran some Banana Split felt through my Cuttlebug with the Jumbo Ric Rac die. I also ran some Earth Girl felt through with the new Let it Snow die. I also added a button cut from cardstock with the new Button Quartet die. The button die is fabulous!! It cuts and embosses beautifully and the buttons do not look like they're made from cardstock.

I added some liquid applique over the image for some dimension and texture.
I finished off the inside with another snowflake and button as well as the Open Scallop Border die (currently being re-stocked).

Here are all the details you need to know:

MFT Teasers - Polka Dot Greetings

Welcome to Day 1 of MFT Teasers for the October release! Wait until you see all the fabulous stamps and dies being released this month! Remember that Kim will have links to all the designers sharing teasers that day at 11am EST on her blog. And if you leave comments along the way, you could win a free set!

On my card today, I used not one, but two new dies and a co-ordinating stamp set. The stamp and frame is part of the Polka Dot Greetings stamp set and die. It is a fabulous new shape and comes with 3 different frames and lots of sentiments to go inside the frame. Not only are the stamps fabulous, but I think the shape will be perfect to use as a layering piece. I also used the new Rolled Rose die and cut some felt to make that gorgeous flower. I also snuck an old favorite on there - the Jumbo Scallop die. My layout is actually a sketch from the last Dare to Get Dirty event. I think it was by Sharon Harnist, but am not totally sure on that (my apologies if not!). You'll also see some of that fabulous cotton twill on my card as well.

You may also notice that I used raspberry, lime, and aqua on my card - those colours happen to be part of the Guest Designer contest this month. Play along for your chance to join the design team next month and receive the November sets for free!

Sketchy Bunch of Blooms

Hey all! I have a quick card to share with you today. I had a chance to play along with Jen's sketch for you to try. I love using her sketches, but I'm notoriously bad at actually uploading my entry on time - oops! So I'm sneaking my card in just under the deadline this week.

I hadn't had a chance to ink up this cute little Pure Innocence stamp yet - Bunch of Blooms, so I cut her out and paired her with some My Mind's Eye papers (Quite Contrary). My green panels are actually cut using the Framed Greetings Die-Namics die. I kept this fairly clean and simple, I resisted the urge to mat any of the layers.

I also finished off the inside using both the Framed Greetings die and the Open Scallop Border die (currently being restocked).
Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check back tomorrow for the first day of MFT Teasers! This month's release is fabulous! Have a great Friday!
