Ghosting

Is not scary at all! It's really just versamark resist. I wanted to try it and it turned out o.k. I don't have a brayer so I sponged my ink over the images which works, but isn't as nice as the brayer. Something else to add to my wish list I guess.... Oh and the yellow looks much better in person, it's kind of wonky in the pic.

Treat Pouch

I got the template and instructions for this treat pouch off of Splitcoast Stampers. I used a 6x6 piece of patterned cardstock and I stamped the flowers in white and embossed them with white embossing powder. It's the perfect size for a tea bag or a small bag of candy. I will for sure be filing this one away for next Valentine's day! I'm going to send this one to my mom with her favourite Stash Double Bergamot Earl Grey tea.

Tokens for classmates

I decided I wanted to do something for Riley's classmates for the end of the school year. I didn't really want to do candy and was lucky enough to stumble upon this idea in the Splitcoast stampers gallery. It's a pocket card (except I shrunk it) but instead of a card insert, you add a pack of Kool Aid. What says summer more than Kool Aid I ask you? Best of all, I had all of these supplies on hand! Bonus! I think they turned out pretty cute.

Snappy Birthday!

Hee hee! This card is too cute (if I do say so myself!). It's for my dad and I think he'll like it. The dark background just seemed more suited for a male card. I made the sand by dotting with my versamark pen and then I embossed the whole bottom with clear embossing powder. I also used my paper glaze to make the crab's eyes glossy. I'm really happy with it on the whole.

Pink and Brown

My current favourite colour combination! I decided to try the same dazzling diamond dust technique with pink and brown. I versamarked the background. They turned out good except that for some reason the pink flower makes you see the multicolor specks in the iridescent embossing powder more than the red flower did. Not that it shows in the picture :)

Seuss like

Riley did a Dr. Seuss unit in school this year and really loved it. When I saw a Dr. Seuss card in the Splitcoast gallery, I had to CASE it. It's pretty simple, but I had to mask the fish to get two in the circle. I don't like the background, it's too simple, I may still add something (when I figure out what the something should be!). The verse inside reads "Best Fishes".

Dazzling Diamond Dust

I've been dying to try the dazzling diamond dust technique for a while now and after seeing a card by Splitcoast Stamper vramsey I was inspired to try it myself. This is another one of my new Stampin' Up sets, Mixed Bouquet and while I love it, it intimidates me a little. I think this turned out pretty well - I don't think you can see the sparkle in the picture, but it's really pretty in person (it uses iridescent embossing powder). I also used my new Palette of Prints sampler which is awesome paper because it matches the ink colours perfectly. I can see myself buying this paper from the new catalog!

Just beclaws...

Here's another card using Crab & Co. I find that lately I have no creative juices, so this is inspired by the Splitcoast Stampers gallery. At least I came up with the overall design and colour scheme on my own! I was also trying to incorporate some patterned paper in and this Basic Grey seemed to work well. Eventually I will add the caption, Just beclaws... on the bottom right corner (when my snap stamps arrive, mwah hah!). I obviously need to work on my water colouring though.

Shore do love you....

I just got this set from Stampin' Up, it's called Crab & Co. I think it's so cute - not that you can tell from this picture - you'll have to take my word for it. This is the first card I've made in over a year. I had absolutely no creative juices so it's a direct CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit or in my situation Copy And Steal Everything) from Splitcoast Stampers user LindaKeal.

Such a grand title.....

But I'm afraid this blog really won't live up to it! I've gotten back into stamping again - after a lengthy hiatus. I've recently become a SAHM and needed to do something for me. Ideally that would have been scrapbooking, but it takes much longer to make a scrapbook page than a card. Plus there's the need to have pictures on hand to scrapbook. I've actually printed very few pictures since going digital a couple years ago! So card making it is! It's cheaper than therapy, right?
