Teaser Time - How Your Garden Grows!

Happy Saturday friends!! It's that time again - Teaser time! The MFT designers are showing you sneaks of the sets being released on Wed. Aug. 4th!

I've used a new Stephanie Fizer set - How Your Garden Grows. I love this set because No. 1 - it's cute; No. 2 - it has a matching digi paper kit; and No. 3 - it has a matching Die-Namics die. Here I've used one of the digital paper backgrounds and another of the digital papers for paper piecing her dress and bonnet. I had to use this particular sentiment, since it describes my daughter to a tee!
I cut a second panel out of the digital paper and popped my clouds up for some dimension. I also stamped one of the flower middles and punched them out, then adhered them over top of the printed flowers for more dimension. The Die-Namics Fresh Cut Grass is cut from MFT felt and stitched on.

This set is full of goodness - a cute Mary, Mary Quite Contrary, great sentiments, and a whole schwack of flowers, centres, leaves and stems to mix and match. The possibilities are endless - especially with the matching die!
Ready for some TOP-SECRET news? Today, there is a prize hidden on one of the designer's blog posts. As you make your way through the Teaser Time posts, simply leave a comment on each blog for your chance to win one of the Brand Spankin' New stamp sets being released on August 4th. Leavin...On a Jet Plane!

O.k. I know that my card has a car on it and not a plane, but it's the best I could do! I hadn't had a chance to use this set (Cruising Cosmo Girl - currently out of stock) from last month's MFT release and decided to remedy that! And although I'm flying to CHA, my roomie Christina Fischer is! Safe driving Christina - see you soon!

Alrighty friends, be good while I'm gone! Don't forget that MFT Teasers start on Sat. so check back for sneaks of this month's awesome release - I've got everything scheduled and ready to go! Toodles!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my Mom's birthday and I'm lucky enough to be spending it with her since she's here visiting. We're off for pedicures tonight but I needed a card for her. I whipped up a quick one using the Framed Greetings Die and Stamp set (currently out of stock).

I added a rolled flower die cut out of some MFT felt and some of that yummy crochet ribbon! I put a couple more sentiments inside the card - using one from Clearly Sentimental about Mothers and another from Clearly Sentimental about Birthdays.

I'm keeping this post short and sweet as I'm still tackling my to-do list before I leave for CHA tomorrow. Have a great day friends!

Pleated Wedding

Hey friends! How's your week going? Mine's going good - my Mom's here visiting and I'm busy getting ready for CHA. So excited to be going and for the chance to meet some online friends in person, and reconnect with others!

I was asked to make a wedding card and decided to go with the same sentiment that I used for the last wedding card I made. It's from Clearly Sentimental About You and it really resonates with me.

I used the couple's wedding colours and I paired the sentiment with the Framed Greetings Die and Stamp set (currently out of stock) as well as the Die-Namics Jumbo Scallop die. A bit of stitching and some pleated ribbon finished it all off.

Well I'm off to run some errands and spend some time with my Mom! Have a great day!

Do you Kijiji?

Hmmmm.... I think I just turned a noun into a verb! I've been busy stamping but nothing that I can share right now! My best friend has gone home and my Mom is here visiting. What a lucky girl I am! I should have something stampy to show you in the next couple days, but today I thought I'd show you my kijiji score.

Kijiji is similar to Craigslist up here in Canada. I frequent both, but Kijiji is much more active in our area and has many more listings. I'd been looking for a sideboard for our dining room for a while now and came across this.

I adore it! But now it's making me want to paint my dining room table and chairs.

Since we're on the subject of homes, want to see the changes in the exterior of our house? You do? Oh good!

Here's the before:
And here's the after:

We replaced our windows and doors, painted the exterior and added shutters. Oh and we took a couple trees down. The landscaping will have to wait until next year, but I'm so happy with the results!

Well if you've made it this far, thanks for reading! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Banner Day Baby

Hey all! I whipped up a really quick card the other day for the Wednesday stamp club challenge over in the MFT forum to use a banner on your card. I just received my Banner Day die and was itching to use it some more and I needed to make a card for my new nephew Lochlin!

I pulled out some of my fave Doodlebug papers and matching Bazzill cardstock and added some stitching and brads. I tied some narrow ribbon and seam tape in between each banner flag as well. I just love this die with its matching alphabet!
I also finished up the inside of the card with the Jumbo Scallop Die-Namics die and a stamp from the Framed Greetings set. The sentiment is actually from the Baby Bump set. Hope you'll play along with us and create your own banner?

Thanks so much for stopping by! Later taters!

MFT VIP Hop - Who's That Harvest Girl

Welcome to MFT's VIP hop for August. The VIP kit is now available in the store until midnight Wed. or while quantities last. This is your chance to get this month's "Who's That Girl" set two weeks early as well as some other fun new products in a kit. If you've come here by way of Kim's blog you're right on track! If you've just stumbled upon my post, then you'll want to go back to Kim's blog to start at the beginning!

I LOVE this month's Who's That Girl! I love the bigger scale, and all the things that you can stamp in her basket, and her sassy sentiments. Because peaches are my very favorite, I chose to use them for my card. It's still a touch early here for local peaches, but when I was visiting Niagara-On-The-Lake I picked up some yummy peach jam at Greaves. It's an institution in NOTL and has been making yummy jams & jellies forever! I always pick some up when we're there.
Can I tell you how easy it is to line up this set? Every time I've used this set I've been able to match up the basket with its contents perfectly! I love it! I paired my peaches with some DCWV Cafe Mediterranean papers and was so excited to pull out my Banner Day Die. I hung my banner from a couple of yummy buttons from the Earth Girl scoop. I added a bit of a basket weave texture on my basket by drawing it in with my colorless blender.
I finished off the inside of the card with some matching patterned papers cut with Die-Namics dies and a sentiment from the Framed Greetings stamp set. I also stamped some more peaches along the bottom border of the panel and quickly coloured them.
I made a woven basket from cardstock to hold my jar of peach jam. Actually - I should say "we". My best friend is here visiting and she assembled the basket after I cut and sponged the pieces - it was a joint effort! I used the Framed Greetings die and a sentiment from the Who's That Girl set for the front of the basket.
Here's a peek of what's in this month's VIP kit!

Birthday Fishes

Happy Sunday friends!! I've been busy spending time with my best friends who is here visiting from Calgary and haven't had much chance to stamp lately. I did whip this card up with one of the Kraftin' Kimmie mermaids - Calliope. I snapped up the mermaid kit and haven't had a chance to play with it yet!
I combined some October Afternoon papers with Taylor's sketch challenge layout from this week. The crochet ribbon is from MFT as well as the jumbo ric rac die (it's back in stock now for those of you who have been waiting for it!).

I'm keeping this short & sweet as we're off to putter around Niagara-On-The-Lake today! Have a great day!

Snappy à la mode!

Welcome to the à la mode Blog Hop! If you've just stumbled upon my blog, you'll want to start back at the beginning over at the MFT blog. If you've come from Jody's blog then you're on the right track!

Have you heard?? This month MFT is celebrating its 4th birthday and Kim wanted to keep the celebration going by releasing some new stamps! The big news is that these are RUBBER!!! Now I love clear stamps, but I know a lot of people prefer rubber. These are deeply etched and scroll cut and come mounted on cling mount. They are super quality and gorgeous!

And this is a new character! Meet The à la modes in Picture Perfect! This à la mode is sassy and I adore her camera.
I used three different Die-namics dies on my card (can you spot them?) and some of the new ruffled ribbon! Sigh... I have a new love!!! First the crochet ribbon, and now this ruffled stuff - I'm in ribbon heaven! I popped up the lens of the camera, and covered the window parts with glitter.

Here's some deets about these new stamps:
  • à la modes will be available only in rubber
  • Each set is produced in the USA using the highest quality rubber, with the deepest etch possible.
  • Each image and sentiment is backed on cling foam and scroll cut, making it ready for stamping right out of the bag!
  • Packaged in a clear hang bag, we've also provided the ideal storage solution by including a thick laminated header card in each set that can be used to store the stamp set, in its entirety after purchase.
  • $10.95 for the 3 x 4" set
I finished off the inside of my card as well - stamping the image again in Memento London Fog ink. The three sentiments included in this set are fabulous! Couldn't you just see this stamp used on a scrapbook page too?

The à la modes are now available for purchase right HERE!

Your next stop on the hop is the super talented Jen. I know she has something amazing cooked up for you! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Clean & Simple PI

Hey all! We're still on holiday but I'm sitting here in the Phoenix airport waiting on my flight. We actually missed our connection by minutes due to mechanical issues and had a 9 hour wait for another flight - which happens to be the red eye! Fun times!

I made this card a couple of weeks ago when I was playing along with the Clean and Simple challenge over at Splitcoast. It happened to be a sketch challenge and I decided to use this sweet little Pure Innocence girl who I had coloured up but never used.
Those glittered garnishes are actually pink - though they don't look it in the picture. The pink papers are from My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary and the black is a Doodlebug patterned paper.
Hope you're having a great week and are getting more sleep than me tonight! Happy trails!

PI Are We There Yet?

Hey friends! I haven't had a chance yet to post this card that I made for the MFT July release. This is one of the new Pure Innocence stamps (Are We There Yet?), and I love it because it is so me right now. We're on holiday and I looked like this many times over the last week.
I used Mercy's sketch from a couple of weeks ago and paired my PI with some Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride papers.

Well I'm keeping this short and sweet because it's late, and after all, I am on vacation. Hope you're having a fabulous weekend - I know I am! Thanks so much for stopping by!

July Shop & Hop

Welcome to MFT's July Shop & Hop!! All of the new stamps and new Die-Namics are available now in the MFT store by clicking HERE. If you're just stumbling upon this post, you'll want to go back to Kim's blog to start the hop at the beginning!

Tonight I'm sharing a card with you that I made using this month's Triple Scoop Set - Clearly Sentimental About Gardens (free with the purchase of three full sized sets). My best friend in the whole world is coming to visit me next week, and one of our favorite things to do is sit on the patio and drink coffee. When I saw this sentiment, I knew I wanted to make her a card.

I was inspired by a trellis card that I saw on Splitcoast, so I decided to make a shaped trellis, and I ran some vines up and added a schwack (one of my favorite technical terms) of different felt flowers. I also added some felt grass that I cut using the fresh cut grass Die-Namics die and felt from the Earth Girl felt pack.

Your next stop along the hop is over to see the incredibly talented Christina! I'm super excited because I get to meet her in person at CHA at the end of this month. I'm hoping some of her genius rubs off on me!

Don't forget to leave comments along the hop - there's a $15 gift voucher up for grabs. We're not telling you who's giving away the prize, so the more comments you leave, the better your chances of winning! Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Teasers - Jolinne Just for You

Happy Tuesday friends! I'm back today with a teaser for a new Jolinne set being released on Wed. night at MFT. There's also another awesome set being previewed today that has a matching Die-namics die - so make sure you check out the MFT blog at 11am EST for links to all designers sharing teasers today!
Today I decided that Jolinne would have dark hair and a paper pieced dress. I covered the stamped flowers with some flower embellishments for a little 3 dimensional effect. If you like rolled flowers, you'll especially like one of the Die-namics dies being released this month! I added some stitching and some more of that crochet ribbon - I can't seem to NOT use it!

I decided to finish off the inside of the card too. I love the way
Michele often stamps her image in a coordinating ink on the inside, so I gave it a whirl.

Here's a couple of important tidbits for you:
  • Check Kim's blog at 11am EST for links to all the designers sharing previews today
  • There's still time to enter the Guest Designer contest. Win over $100 in free stamps and join the design team next month. Find the details HERE.

MFT Teasers - Pure Innocence Tea Party

Welcome to Day 3 of the MFT July Teasers! I swear that these Pure Innocence stamps get cuter every month! I have my fave to show you today, but you need to see the others too, so make sure you check in at the MFT blog at 11am EST to see a list of the other designers previewing today as well!
I've used the Pure Innocence Tea Party girl and masked the table so I could sit her under it. I paper pieced her tablecloth added a teapot and tea cup. All of the awesome accessory stamps are separate, so they work perfectly for creating scenes, masking, and paper piecing. I used some double stitched ribbon and pulled the stitching on one side to gather it. I made a little skirt for one of my panels, and also made a little fleurette as an embellishment.
I also decided to finish off the inside of the card with another table. I used a sentiment from the Wyatt says Wow set. I had to use this sentiment because my daughter's favorite thing to do at my friend Becky's house is to have a tea party. They use a Disney fairy tea set and they have water and mini chocolate chips. She's always asking to go to Becky's and play tea party.

Don't forget:
  • The release party is on Wed. July 7th from 8-10pm EST in THIS thread
  • At 10 pm EST, all the new stamps will be available in the MFT store and the July Shop & Hop begins from Kim's blog. Hop through and leave comments for your chance to win a free set!

MFT Teasers - Fred Bear Hits the Beach!

Today I'm sharing a card I made with the new Fred Bear set. He's all decked out and ready to hit the beach (or the pool). This is what I will look like in a couple of days (perhaps I'll leave the fish out though - lol).
I used the Guest Designer challenge for this month to determine my colours. See the panels in the background? Remind you of anything? I was going for the Canadian flag - hope it worked! I sewed my panels on and then decided to wrap some twine around my brads too.

I pieced Fred's hat from cork and also the sandcastle from the Pure Innocence Beach Bum set. I covered his glasses, ring and lotion with clear glaze pen and added some glitter to his fish (is that a snack for later I wonder?). I also used some blender solution and a rag on Fred to give his fur some texture.

Here's a couple of things you need to know:
  • July's release party is Wed. July 7th from 8-10pm EST in this thread in the MFT forum on Splitcoast
  • The Guest Designer contest details are posted here. This is your chance to join the design team next month and receive the release for free! In honor of Canada Day on July 1st in Canada and Independence Day on July 4th in the States, this month's challenge is a COLOR CHALLENGE. Use any neutral, white, cream, black, or kraft with the color RED and/or BLUE. You can take your project in any direction you would like using these colors.
  • Kim will have a list on her blog today at 11 am EST with links to all the designers sharing teasers today.
  • The July Shop & Hop will be Wed. July 7th at 10pm EST. Start at Kim's blog and hop through leaving comments for your chance to win a free set!
Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy the rest of the teasers and I'll see you tomorrow!

MFT Teasers - Banner Day!

Welcome to Day 1 of MFT Teasers for the July release! There's so much exciting stuff being released this month - I know you're going to love all of it!

Today I have a project using the new Banner Day Alphabet. As you'll see on some of the other design team blogs, there's a coordinating Die-Namics die to accompany this set - but mine is still being held captive by Canada Post! Anyway, I used my alphabet to create a small end of year gift for my son's teachers. These are what the outsides ended up looking like.

For the notecards themselves, I cut my cardstock into quarters - so each card is 4.25 x 5.5". I then printed off the notebook paper from the
Stephanie Fizer School Collection digi papers. I set my printer to print 2 per page and then cut them down to 4"x5.25". I adhered them to the cardstock and used my alphabet to stamp the teacher's name at the top. I kept these pretty simple and plain as I felt the teachers would use them more this way. I did 10 for each teacher and also included envelopes.

My son takes French Immersion so his French teacher is Mlle. Markin. Mlle. is the short form for Mademoiselle, which is the equivalent of Miss. in French (there's your French lesson for today!). Can I tell you how super easy this alphabet was to work with and line up? Each letter comes with both an upper case and lower case version which is handy dandy! I can't wait until my dies get here so I can play with this properly!

Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy the rest of the teasers and I'll see you tomorrow!
