MFT February Shop & Hop

Well hello there!  Welcome to MFT's February Shop & Hop.  Aren't all the new stamp sets and dies fabulous?  If you've come here from Carole's blog then you're on the right track.  If you've just stumbled upon this post, you'll want to start back at the beginning at Kim's blog so as not to miss any of the amazing eye candy!

I've had so much fun playing with this month's release and I decided that I wanted to revisit the technique I used to create this card since there are some sentiments about rainbows in the new set The Great Outdoors.  I decided to take a couple pictures along the way to show you how I did it.  I started with the Rolled Flower die and cut 5 - one out of each colour I wanted in my rainbow.  I used felt because it has a little give in it.  I'm not sure this would work with paper.

I cut the outer ring off each flower.
I know it seems like a bit of waste, but the beauty of this is that you can still use the remaining piece to make a rose, it will just be a little smaller.
Here are all of my colours.
I then nested them inside each other, lining up all the narrow ends.
I cut off the extra ends, to make an arc.
Then I adhered the layers down to my panel and cut off the extras.  I covered the other ends with a couple of the new flat bottomed clouds cut from white felt.  I used last week's MFT sketch and the Die-namics Sunshine die seemed to be perfect for the corner element of the sketch.  I also used the new Simply Scallops die along the top.  The papers are all Doodlebug and of course the sentiment is from the new Great Outdoors set.
I finished the inside off with another Simply Scallops strip and one of the other rainbow sentiments from the set.  I love how these two sentiments go together so well.

Well that's all I've got for you!  Remember that all the new releases are available now - right HERE.  And don't forget to leave comments along the hop.  One of the designers is giving away a gift voucher - but we're not telling you who.  The more comments you leave, the better your chances are of winning.  Now you're on your way to our fabulous guest designer for this month - Kelli Jo.  I know she'll have something to knock your socks off.  Go tell her what a fabulous job she did this month.
