My Own Inspiration Challenge

On Wednesdays I attend a mom to mom group at a friend's church, as our church doesn't run anything similar. We only have one week left to meet and yesterday I was inspired by our workbook. Here's what I came up with.
Colours are Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Close to Cocoa and Barely Banana. I used the Pretty Petals background stamp for the blue panel and the flowers from Papertrey's Green Thumb and sentiment from Out on a Limb. I used Hero Arts clear gemstones in the middle of the flowers. I'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out and I'll be giving it to our mom to mom leader as a thank you card.

Birthday Lily

It seems to be birthday party season for my son. He's invited to a classmates pool party this weekend and I needed to make a card. Luckily I received my Pink Cat Studios Dress Up Lily stamps last week, so I got to ink her up. Just a simple card with pretty in pink, barely banana and certainly celery cardstock as well as some DCWV glittery paper (from the posies stack). She's coloured with copics and the hat and present are popped up on dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts clear cupcake set.
Happy hump day!! Hope you're having a great week!

Home Sweet Home!

It's Monday morning (not a holiday here in Canada) and I'm at home! I finished up my full time contract on Friday and am enjoying being home with my kids again! I hope to sneak into my stamp room this afternoon while my dd naps. I hope to be more consistent with posting now that my stamping time is back! I have new stamps and punches to play with and haven't had a chance yet - so I'm dying to get creating!

I did make this card last weekend - I'm trying to get some Father's Day cards made up ahead of time. I found this paper on sale at a not so local scrapbook store a while ago - I think it must be from last year - but had to have it. The stamp is Grillafella from Stamping Bella and is coloured with copics. The sentiment is from Papertrey's Pond Life and the shadow is from Amuse. Thanks for looking!

Long Weekend Bliss

Happy Sunday! Here in Canada it's a long weekend and I'm enjoying that fact tremendously. I've had time to stamp a bit (trying to get some Father's Day cards together to sell) which I've missed so much! We're also doing a bit outside in the yard and painting our bedroom. We're finally getting rid of the awful pink that was here when we moved in and that we've lived with for a year and a half.
I do have a card to share with you that I made last weekend. A good friend asked me if I had any birthday cards in my basket to sell. I asked her why and she told me she needed a card for another friend of hers, one that I also know but only as an aquaintance. I offered to custom make something for her, as I was desperate to stamp last weekend but didn't have much motivation. I used the same Lockhart stamp and made it a little more "cottagey".

I think the paper is from We R and the sentiment is Papertrey. The cardstock is Prism and the ribbon is SU purely pomegranate. I think I'm going to miss purely pom when it retires from the catalogue this year. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture, I was in a hurry. Next week is my last week of work and I'm looking forward to it! It's been nice to be needed, and certainly the extra money is nice, but it's been very challenging for me and my family. I'm looking forward to being back home full time again. This experience has cemented for me how blessed I am to be a stay at home mom. I know it's not the right decision for everyone, but it certainly is for me!

Mothers Day - Part Deux!

This is the card I made for my mother-in-law. Again another Lockhart stamp and some K&Co. patterned paper. I would have liked to make it more detailed, but just didn't have the time.

In other news, I was browsing my local Michael's the other day and found the Fiskars Threading Water punch that I've been eyeing. I never expected to find it there - it's still a pretty new item. Of course, it had to come home with me. I hope to use it on a card tomorrow.

Hope you're having a great week!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy early Mother's Day to all my blogging friends and readers. I hope you enjoy whatever your families have in store for you tomorrow. I have no idea what we are doing although I hope we will finish building our shed and digging in the swing set.

I had a little time last week to make some quick Mother's Day cards. I would have liked to spend more time on them and make them a little more detailed, but time was short and they needed to go in the mail. This one went to my mom. It's fairly simple, a Lockhart stamp coloured with copics, certainly celery and cool caribbean cardstock, K & Co. patterned paper and some ribbon and a prima.

Have a great weekend peeps!

A Much Needed Day Off!

I had a day off today!! It was so nice to just be with my kids and hang out at home! Although I'm still not feeling well (we've all got a touch of the cold/flu), we had a nice quiet day. And my son lost his second tooth this afternoon! Very exciting day - let me tell you!
Although I didn't stamp today, I did get a chance to stamp over the weekend. This was one of my projects. My son had his last Beaver meeting on Monday and I really wanted to express my appreciation to his Beaver leaders (Beavers is the prequel to Cub Scouts here in Canada). There are generally 6 leaders so I needed something that was quick, and easy on the budget.

I made these cards with a pocket to hold a Ghirardelli Chocolate square. I wrote a nice note on the inside of each one. The stamp is Donald from C.C. Designs and I coloured him to look like he was wearing a Beaver uniform. I masked Donald and stamped the pond and cattails from PTI's Pond Life set (since Beavers live in a pond). The sentiment is a Stampin Up saleabration set called Lots of Thoughts. Thanks for hanging in there with me and for your kind comments. I appreciate each one of you!

Really bad blogger!!!

So sorry I've been away for so long. I've been working mega hours for my contract as well as being away last weekend. My body and mind are exhausted!! Last night I went to bed at 9:30pm and thanks to my amazing hubby, slept until 8:30am this morning. I haven't stamped in weeks - but am looking forward to spending some time today in my stamp room. It's supposed to be rainy and miserable and I desperately need to do something for myself!! Anyway, enough whining!
I made these cards a couple weeks ago before everything got crazy! Some bellas, Basic Grey Perhaps paper, River Rock cardstock and some Martha Stewart ribbon that was on mega clearance at Michaels! Thanks for looking! I will be more consistent over the next couple weeks. I'm still working full time, but after Sunday, all the prep work will be done and all that will be left is to deliver the training 30 times over!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
