Hot Water!

Happy Wednesday/Hump day to you friends! I had a chance to play along with this week's Mojo Monday sketch and this card was the result.

I've had this Lockhart tea bag stamp for a while but only used it a couple of times, so I decided to put it to use again with this new quote from a Stampin' Up set (from the Summer Mini). I paired the image with some October Afternoon Thrift Shop paper (actually I think there's also some Fly a Kite in there as well) and some yummy crochet ribbon from MFT. Loving this stuff - as you'll see in upcoming cards!
I did some stitching and added some brads and prima roses and called it quits. Looking at the card now, I could have scaled down the panels slightly as there's a lot of space around the images, but oh well!
I'm keeping this short as it's late and I have to take my son to get some teeth pulled tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Lockhart Sympathy

One of my best friends recently lost someone very close to her and she asked me to make a sympathy card for the family. Although this might not seem like a typical sympathy image, it actually totally fit the occasion and the sentiment. The colours were chosen to match a small gift that accompanied the card.
The paper is BoBunny and the sentiment is from Papertrey (Out on a Limb - original version).

Hope you're having a great week! I've been busy doing some contract work and haven't had as much time lately to stamp. Hopefully I'll be able to sneak down to my stamps soon! Later taters!

Sweet Pea Sympathy

I got a couple new goodies a couple weeks ago and I hadn't yet had a chance to play with them. I received this new Lockhart stamp - Sweet Peas as well as the Nestabilities Labels One dies. Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a friend of my mom's, so I put them to work. I love sweet peas so it was love at first sight when I saw this stamp. It's pretty small so was a little hard to colour but I love the way it turned out. I coated the water in the vase with Crystal effects so it's glossy. The sentiment is from Papertrey's Mixed Messages set - one of my go to sentiment sets. The rest is pretty simple. Hope you're having a great weekend! We're off for some family fun!

Fabulous Cherries!

Happy Friday!! I'm so glad it's the end of the week - but we do have a busy weekend ahead of us. Tomorrow is my son's birthday party - watch for cupcake pictures tomorrow!

I made this card a while ago - it was a thank you for some blog candy that I was lucky enough to win. The cherry stamp is from Lockhart and the sentiment and background stamp are from Stampin' Up. I have a vague memory that this was a SCS colour challenge - Kraft, Soft Sky, and Real red - but I'm not totally sure.

Hope you have a wonderful start to your weekend!

Lockhart Thank You

I made this card for my son's soccer coach. The season ended last weekend and I wanted to let them know we appreciated him. I just love this Lockhart stamp, coloured with my copics and cut and embossed with Nestabilities. The paper is from a MME stack that I got at Costco last year - I'm determined to start using it up! The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up sale-abration set (Lots of Thoughts) and I pierced the corners and added some bella baubles. Hope you're having a great week!

Long Weekend Bliss

Happy Sunday! Here in Canada it's a long weekend and I'm enjoying that fact tremendously. I've had time to stamp a bit (trying to get some Father's Day cards together to sell) which I've missed so much! We're also doing a bit outside in the yard and painting our bedroom. We're finally getting rid of the awful pink that was here when we moved in and that we've lived with for a year and a half.
I do have a card to share with you that I made last weekend. A good friend asked me if I had any birthday cards in my basket to sell. I asked her why and she told me she needed a card for another friend of hers, one that I also know but only as an aquaintance. I offered to custom make something for her, as I was desperate to stamp last weekend but didn't have much motivation. I used the same Lockhart stamp and made it a little more "cottagey".

I think the paper is from We R and the sentiment is Papertrey. The cardstock is Prism and the ribbon is SU purely pomegranate. I think I'm going to miss purely pom when it retires from the catalogue this year. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture, I was in a hurry. Next week is my last week of work and I'm looking forward to it! It's been nice to be needed, and certainly the extra money is nice, but it's been very challenging for me and my family. I'm looking forward to being back home full time again. This experience has cemented for me how blessed I am to be a stay at home mom. I know it's not the right decision for everyone, but it certainly is for me!

Mothers Day - Part Deux!

This is the card I made for my mother-in-law. Again another Lockhart stamp and some K&Co. patterned paper. I would have liked to make it more detailed, but just didn't have the time.

In other news, I was browsing my local Michael's the other day and found the Fiskars Threading Water punch that I've been eyeing. I never expected to find it there - it's still a pretty new item. Of course, it had to come home with me. I hope to use it on a card tomorrow.

Hope you're having a great week!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy early Mother's Day to all my blogging friends and readers. I hope you enjoy whatever your families have in store for you tomorrow. I have no idea what we are doing although I hope we will finish building our shed and digging in the swing set.

I had a little time last week to make some quick Mother's Day cards. I would have liked to spend more time on them and make them a little more detailed, but time was short and they needed to go in the mail. This one went to my mom. It's fairly simple, a Lockhart stamp coloured with copics, certainly celery and cool caribbean cardstock, K & Co. patterned paper and some ribbon and a prima.

Have a great weekend peeps!

Tea Time?

Tea is definitely what I need! I'm just finishing up vomit laundry for the 3rd time. My dd is sick and keeps throwing up - only in bed though! Poor little girl is sleeping on the couch right now - I feel so bad for her.
I got this Lockhart stamp while I was in the States - actually my mother in law bought it for me! I paired it with a sketch from Michelle Wooderson's blog, some Basic Grey patterned paper, and the cuttlebug textile folder. I am really happy with the way this one turned out!

I have a couple of links I'd love to share with you if you're interested!
