Clean & Simple PI

Hey all! We're still on holiday but I'm sitting here in the Phoenix airport waiting on my flight. We actually missed our connection by minutes due to mechanical issues and had a 9 hour wait for another flight - which happens to be the red eye! Fun times!

I made this card a couple of weeks ago when I was playing along with the Clean and Simple challenge over at Splitcoast. It happened to be a sketch challenge and I decided to use this sweet little Pure Innocence girl who I had coloured up but never used.
Those glittered garnishes are actually pink - though they don't look it in the picture. The pink papers are from My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary and the black is a Doodlebug patterned paper.
Hope you're having a great week and are getting more sleep than me tonight! Happy trails!

PI Are We There Yet?

Hey friends! I haven't had a chance yet to post this card that I made for the MFT July release. This is one of the new Pure Innocence stamps (Are We There Yet?), and I love it because it is so me right now. We're on holiday and I looked like this many times over the last week.
I used Mercy's sketch from a couple of weeks ago and paired my PI with some Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride papers.

Well I'm keeping this short and sweet because it's late, and after all, I am on vacation. Hope you're having a fabulous weekend - I know I am! Thanks so much for stopping by!

MFT Teasers - Pure Innocence Tea Party

Welcome to Day 3 of the MFT July Teasers! I swear that these Pure Innocence stamps get cuter every month! I have my fave to show you today, but you need to see the others too, so make sure you check in at the MFT blog at 11am EST to see a list of the other designers previewing today as well!
I've used the Pure Innocence Tea Party girl and masked the table so I could sit her under it. I paper pieced her tablecloth added a teapot and tea cup. All of the awesome accessory stamps are separate, so they work perfectly for creating scenes, masking, and paper piecing. I used some double stitched ribbon and pulled the stitching on one side to gather it. I made a little skirt for one of my panels, and also made a little fleurette as an embellishment.
I also decided to finish off the inside of the card with another table. I used a sentiment from the Wyatt says Wow set. I had to use this sentiment because my daughter's favorite thing to do at my friend Becky's house is to have a tea party. They use a Disney fairy tea set and they have water and mini chocolate chips. She's always asking to go to Becky's and play tea party.

Don't forget:
  • The release party is on Wed. July 7th from 8-10pm EST in THIS thread
  • At 10 pm EST, all the new stamps will be available in the MFT store and the July Shop & Hop begins from Kim's blog. Hop through and leave comments for your chance to win a free set!
  • There's still time to enter the Guest Designer contest. You can win over $100 in free stamps and join the design team next month. All the details are HERE.
Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with another teaser!

Teacher Thank You's!

Finally I've finished the thank you cards for my son's teachers. Because he is in French immersion, he actually has 2 teachers - he sees each one for half the day. I used a Pure Innocence stamp - You Make the Grade and paired her with some Basic Grey and October Afternoon patterned paper. I used Karen's sweet sketch challenge for the layout. There's a little something else to go along with these cards, but I can't show you just yet!
Happy Friday and hope you have a great weekend! We have an especially busy one so I'm going to get started now! Thanks for stopping by!

Sketchy Sorry!

It's been so long since I've been able to play along with a challenge over at Splitcoast but last week I was able to squeak in the sketch challenge.

I used some Doodlebug scraps and added some stitching, brads, pearls, and ribbons. The stamps is a MFT Pure Innocence cutie called Flower Girl. There's a lot of dots going on in this card!

Well I'm keeping this short and sweet as I'm on my way to Preschool duty. Can't believe that preschool ends on Thursday (our elementary schools are still in until the 29th). I'll have the grad cards I made for the teachers to show you this week as well! Later taters!

Beachy Mojo

Happy Saturday to you! I had such a great day yesterday - I got to hang out with Sherrie Siemens while she was here teaching copic classes, and then went out with her and some new stamping friends for dinner.
I made this card using another Pure Innocence stamp that I hadn't had a chance to use - Beach Bum. I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout and was able to incorporate lots of Die-namics goodies! I also tried to use lots of texture - cork and felt, as well as different stitching.

Hope you have a great weekend! We're off to a pancake breakfast with my daughter's preschool. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT Pure Innocence Beach Bum
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics, So Saffron
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, Riding Hood Red cs, DCWV Citrus dsp
Accessories: MFT Die-namics Jumbo Scallop Die, Die-Namics Cloud Trio Die, Die-Namics Sunshine Die, Cork, Felt, Ribbon, Sewing Machine

Card Positioning Systems Well Wishes

When I saw that MFT was sponsoring this week's sketch over at CPS, I knew that I wanted to play along. I love sketch challenges! I paired some Cosmo Cricket Material Girl paper with this Pure Innocence stamp that I hadn't used yet (gasp!).

You can't tell in the picture, but my sentiment banner is quite dimensional and is all wavy in real life. Here's the sketch for this week if you want to play along over on the CPS blog.

Well again this is short and sweet. We're getting new windows in our house today and I have to go take down some curtains and clear a path! I'm so excited (is that lame?)! See you soon!

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT Pure Innocence Happy Mail
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, Cosmo Cricket Material Girl dsp, Kraft, Baja Breeze, white cs
Accessories: Sewing Machine, MFT Die-Namics Scalloped Scallop die, trim, button, twine, foam boosters, Sakura Clear Glaze Pen

MFT Teasers - Pure Innocence

I must admit that Monday is one of my very favorite teaser days because it usually means new Pure Innocence stamps. This month's PI's are so cute and I love all three of them.
I chose to work with A Cart Full of Friends for my card. This set comes with some cute friends to go in the wagon, but I still had these Doodlebug heart sequins out on my desk and thought they'd be perfect in the wagon considering the sentiment I chose to use. I popped the wagon up for some dimension and used brads for the wheels. I also used twine for the wagon string and popped up her hand and sleeve for more dimension. I was in the mood for a clean and simple card so kept this one pretty plain.
I can't wait for you to see the other stamps so make sure you check Kim's blog after 11am EST for a list of all the designers showing teasers today.

Also, there's still time to play in the Guest Designer contest and have a chance to win $125 of free stamps and play along with the design team next month. And trust me - the MFT design team is the best! I've been so honoured to play along with them as a guest.
See you back here tomorrow friends! Have a great Monday!

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT Pure Innocence A Cart Full of Friends (being released Wed. night)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Memento Cantaloupe, copics
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, Kraft, Doodlebug patterned paper, Bazzill cs
Accessories: Twine, brads, Doodlebug heart sequins, ribbon

Bright Better Get Better!

Wow - have you got your sunglasses on? This card turned out a little bright, but oh so cheery, especially for a get well card. I finally had a chance to use Mercy's Tuesday sketch and inked up this little Better Get Better Pure Innocence stamp. The paper is all from Doodlebug (one of my fave paper lines) and the cardstock is the matching line from Bazzill.
I'm keeping this short and sweet because today is a holiday here in Canada - the last day of our long weekend. I'm off to spend some time with my family! Have a great day friends!

Lather, Rinse, Repeat!

Don't forget to enter my blog candy draw HERE!

I'm squeaking this card in under the wire for Jen's sketch for you to try! This past week's sketch was sponsored by MFT so I really wanted to play along. I used a Pure Innocence stamp that I didn't have a chance to ink up for the last release called Lather Rinse Repeat.

I also got my order yesterday with my Die-namics dies. These things cut like butter! I used some white felt to mimic the bubbles and also made a flower out of the jumbo scallop die. I made it the same way that Barbara made hers in this post. I was also inspired by Susan to use one of the sentiments in the rectangular panel like she did here. I must admit that I giggled a little as I repeatedly stamped Lather Rinse Repeat!

I used liquid applique for the bubbles - I've loved using it since I read Jody's tips here! I also dusted some glitter on top of the liquid applique while it was still wet.

Have an awesome Friday! I have some last minute prep to do for Stamp-a-rama tomorrow but then I'll be able to share my samples with you!

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT Pure Innocence Lather Rinse Repeat
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, gp white, Basic Grey Kiyoshi
Accessories: Sewing machine, Die-Namics Jumbo Scallop Die, felt, button, twine, liquid applique, glitter, Sakura clear glaze pen, Nesties

Sketchy Grad!

Hey all! Don't forget to enter my blog candy HERE. You've got until Sat. night to enter to win a $27 MFT gift voucher, 3 Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and a SU sizzlit.

I finally managed to finish my sketch card for the Wednesday stamp club over in the MFT forum. One of our babysitters is graduating grade 8 this year and I wanted to make her a card to accompany our gift. I know it's early but I'm trying to think ahead!

I paper pieced her sweater using some Memory Box paper and switched the half circles in the sketch out for some curvy shapes.
This post is short and sweet because I need to get busy and clean since we're hosting our small group from Church tonight. Later taters!

Supplies:
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, perfect plum cs, black cs, kiwi kiss cs, Memory Box Frond pp
Accessories: Sewing machine, top note die, brads, gingham ribbon, Sakura clear glaze pen, foam boosters

Pleated Sweet Birthday Girl

Hey friends!! I finally had a chance to play along with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. Loved her sketch and it was perfect for this little Pure Innocence girl. The patterned paper is from Stampin Up's Sweet Pea pack and the strip down the side is from My Mind's Eye. I pleated some ribbon and added a Doodlebug paper frill for the sketch elements. Those are glittered garnishes in the corners and there are some rhinestones on the flowers and the sentiment too.
Speaking of Pure Innocence - did you see the freeze frame Kim posted today?! Swoon!! I love that little girl in the bathtub! Can't wait for release day!

Sketchy Tree Swing!

Hey friends! Did you have a good weekend? I had a great one - purging, cleaning and organizing! I love getting rid of stuff that we don't use anymore! Now to tackle the yard work!

I did have time for a quick card. I still hadn't used this Pure Innocence stamp (Boy & Dog Tree Swing) from last month's release and it was perfect for this week's MFT challenge. I cheated a bit as we were to use a stamp with a tree - this one has a tree branch, that counts right?

I paired some denim paper with some Basic Grey Origins paper and twill. The layout is from Jen's sketch for you to try. I sponged and distressed most of the layers and stamped the sentiment on some twill and cut it into a banner shape.
Well I'm off to do some tidying since we're hosting our church small group tonight. Have a great rest of the day!

Birthday Princess

Hey friends! I haven't been posting because I haven't been stamping! I've had a very sore neck since Easter and haven't been able to sit and stamp. However, I had this image already done from the last MFT release and wanted to put it to good use. When I saw Mercy's sketch this week I knew I could use it!
This Pure Innocence Birthday Princess is stamped on a MFT Perfect Panel and I paper pieced her hat and dress with some Doodlebug paper. I paired it up with some Melon Mambo and Soft Suede cardstock. Like I mentioned, the layout is from Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge.
I also made a little tealight cake to match my card. I found this idea in the Splitcoast Stampers gallery and was so tickled! I've been making quite a few of these rolled flowers lately and love how they turn out.
Hope you're having a great Thursday! I hope to be back this weekend with some more stampy goodness to show you! Later taters!

MFT Teasers - Pure Innocence!

I hate to be biased, but I just love these Pure Innocence images by MFT and there are 4 being released on Wed. night (3 sweet girls and 1 boy & his dog). I have one project to show you today and a couple more completed for the release party. Come and check them out Wednesday night from 8-10pm in the MFT forum on Splitcoast Stampers.

I created a little gift ensemble with some yummy Doodlebug paper that I've been hoarding.
My kids love ice cream sundaes, but they're kind of funny about them cause they only like vanilla ice cream and sprinkles. No chocolate sauce, whipped cream, or any other toppings! So we always have lots of sprinkles on hand. I made this little holder and tucked a couple bottle of sprinkles in it. I found the template here.
Here's a view of the tops - I punched some decorative tops for the bottles.
And here's the matching card. I used various Doodlebug papers and arranged them patchwork style - which also fits into this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge (full details here). I added some ribbon and glittered garnishes, as well as some Doodlebug letters.
You'll definitely want to pop over to Kim's blog for a list of all the designers with Teasers today! You're going to want to visit every one for your daily dose of cuteness! Kim will have the list up after 11 am EST. Thanks for stopping by and for all your kind comments! See you tomorrow for another peek!

Supplies
Stamps: MFT Pure Innocence Make Mine a Double
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamagic Pixie Dust chalk ink
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, Melon Mambo, Soft Suede, Doodlebug patterned papers
Other: Nestabilities, ribbon, Glittered Garnishes, Doodlebug ABC's, square punch, sponge

You Rock!

Ack - it's been way too long! I've been stamping, but unfortunately it's for the upcoming MFT release and I can't share it yet! I did manage to complete at least one card that I can actually show you. I'm still working my way through my stamps that have yet to be inked up and decided this one would be perfect for Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch challenge. Of course her deadline was last night - d'oh! But I love the sketch and the card so I'm sharing it anyway. I paper pieced this little tweeny using Stampin Up Sweet Pea patterned paper and decided to finish it off with some paper pleating.
The stars were made from some sticky stars that I bought from Jody and then covered in glitter. Once the glitter was adhered, I gave them a coat of Crystal Effects. They're super glossy and sparkly!
Happy Friday! So glad it's the weekend! I have lots of stamping planned as well as some family stuff too! Later taters!

Lucky Glitter Girl

Can you take one more of this Four Leaf Clover Pure Innocence girl? I needed two thank you cards so coloured them both up at the same time. I used the same Basic Grey Origins paper but changed it up just a bit.
I've been seeing lots of people break their sentiments up like this (mainly Joanne and Jody) and as I was short of space, it worked well for me here. For my glitter shape, I cut an outline with my Blossom Nestabilities and covered it with Versamark and Heat & Stick powder. Then I adhered some Martha Stewart Peridot glitter. I think the rest is pretty straightforward although you can't see the baubles I added in the top right corner.

Hope you have a great weekend friends! We're off to shop for windows and I'm hoping to get some stamping time too!

It's Not Easy Being Green!

I was going to save this card for tomorrow but since it's St. Patty's Day, decided to post it today! This 4 Leaf Clover Pure Innocence sweetie hit my mailbox the other day and I wanted to get her inky right away! I stamped her on a white MFT Perfect Panel and paper pieced her top. All of the papers are Basic Grey Origins. I covered her 4 leaf clover and barrette with Peridot glitter.
This also qualifies for the Wednesday Stamp Club over in the MFT forum on Splitcoast, as we were to use green or shamrocks, and either re-use or recycle something. That green button is swiped from my spare collection - it's an extra from a coat I used to own. The layout is from Taylor's sketch challenge a couple weeks ago (TESC103).

I finished off the insides too. Love this sentiment - I think it makes the stamp so much more versatile. This card is going to a friend who brought us a big pot of soup while we were all hit with the stomach flu. Thanks for reading!

Sweet Pieced Umbrella Girl!

Happy Monday friends! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was full of purging and organizing and boy does that feel good!

One of my favorite stampers - Joanne B. is having a blogaversary celebration complete with challenges and I wanted to play along. This week's challenge was to paper piece - something I love to do! I used this same little Umbrella Pure Innocence girl and paper pieced her coat and umbrella. Joanne has a great paper piecing tutorial here and there's still time to enter her challenge - what are you waiting for?

I was inspired by Paula Williamson to sponge around my image because it's one of those touches I love about her cards. I absolutely love the look of the sponged ink around her - I will definitely be doing this again once I get some more chalk inks. It's hard to see in the picture, but I coated her boots, umbrella handle, and the raindrops with clear glaze pen so they're all shiny. The layout is Karen's sweet Sunday sketch from a week ago (#56).

This card is for a friend who's going through a heck of a lot right now and needs a bit of a smile.

Hey can I share one last thing with you? My card was picked as one of the top 5 for Taylor's 100th sketch challenge!! I'm so excited - see here - that's my card!! Thanks for reading! I appreciate you all!
