A Much Needed Day Off!

I had a day off today!! It was so nice to just be with my kids and hang out at home! Although I'm still not feeling well (we've all got a touch of the cold/flu), we had a nice quiet day. And my son lost his second tooth this afternoon! Very exciting day - let me tell you!
Although I didn't stamp today, I did get a chance to stamp over the weekend. This was one of my projects. My son had his last Beaver meeting on Monday and I really wanted to express my appreciation to his Beaver leaders (Beavers is the prequel to Cub Scouts here in Canada). There are generally 6 leaders so I needed something that was quick, and easy on the budget.

I made these cards with a pocket to hold a Ghirardelli Chocolate square. I wrote a nice note on the inside of each one. The stamp is Donald from C.C. Designs and I coloured him to look like he was wearing a Beaver uniform. I masked Donald and stamped the pond and cattails from PTI's Pond Life set (since Beavers live in a pond). The sentiment is a Stampin Up saleabration set called Lots of Thoughts. Thanks for hanging in there with me and for your kind comments. I appreciate each one of you!

Quick Kids Apology Card

My son belted one of his friends in the stomach yesterday. I was beyond appalled (and more than a little embarrassed!). Mind you they were both fried and tired, but no excuses right? So together we made this card for him to give to his friend Kyla to apologize (as he wouldn't apologize yesterday). I already had the image (Daphne from C.C. Designs) coloured (prismas and gamsol) and so together we decided where it should go and what else it needed on it. Hopefully Kyla likes it and accepts Riley's apology!

Technique Challenge and Back to School

I was so desperate to stamp tonight but am still wiped from the weekend. I checked in on Splitcoast Stampers and the technique challenge was to make a 2-5-7-10 box (named for the scoring measurements). Exactly what I needed, some direction - this is what I came up with.

Stamps: Bees by Stampendous
Paper: Patterned paper by 3 bugs in a rug, Apricot appeal cs, whisper white
Ink: Black
Accessories: Paper piercer, circle punches, ribbon, stickles

I think it turned out super cute! I have had this bee stamp for a couple weeks now and haven't had a chance to use it yet - so it was about time!

I also wanted to make a little card for my son. Tomorrow is his first full day of school and I thought I'd tuck something in his lunch bag. I got my Daphne and Donald stamps from All That Scraps and was anxious to ink them up! I didn't put a ton of effort into this - because my son won't notice it. So even though I think it needs something more, I'm leaving it as is cause he will love it anyway!

Stamps: Donald goes to School (C.C. Designs)

Paper: Patterned paper - unknown, Whisper white, Cool caribbean
Ink: Black Stazon
Accessories: Prismacolour pencils, gamsol
