MFT Teasers - Clearly Sentimental About Abundance

Welcome back for Day 3 of MFT Teasers for the October release.  Today I have a card for you with this month's Triple Scoop set.  The Triple Scoop set is free when you purchase $60 in the MFT store.  Who doesn't love free?  Oh and by the way - if you haven't already - you need to go check out the new MFT website!!  It looks absolutely fabulous!

I didn't have a chance to play along on Wed. with this week's sketch challenge, but I wanted to give it a go anyway.  I stamped a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About Abundance on some patterned paper cut with the Well Worn Greetings die.  I added a Leafy Flourish and a Rolled Flower cut from some co-ordinating patterned paper.  I also used some stitching and a bit of twill for the horizontal element in the sketch.  Don't forget that you can win a voucher just for playing along with MFT stamps.

I finished the inside off with an image from a set that was previewed yesterday - Inspired by Autumn.  Love that crate of apples!!

Here are the details about the upcoming release on October 4 at 10 PM EST:
  • The MFT release is on October 4 at 10 PM EST. You can attend the release party from 8-10 PM EST here in the forum for fun, games, and prizes! All the new sets and dies will be available October 4 at 10 PM EST.

MFT Teasers - Inspired by Autumn

Welcome back to Day 2 of MFT Teasers for the October release.  We have two fabulous sets to show you today, and I've used Inspired by Autumn.  This set has 3 fabulous fall images and I decided to use the pumpkin.  I love pumpkin - pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin spiced lattes, pumpkin seeds - you get the point (and don't I sound like Bubba from Forrest Gump?).  I stamped it on X-Press It blending cardstock and coloured it with my copics.  I love these Inspired By sets because the small dots show you exactly where to concentrate your shading.  I used a layout from Card Patterns and embellished with a Fancy Flourish and the leaves from the Branches and Leaves die.  The papers are Teresa Collins from last year (I may have been hoarding them!).

I finished the inside off with a sentiment from the set stamped in one of those multi-hued inks.

MFT Teasers - Who's That Girl Chooses Hope

Welcome to Day 1 of MFT Teasers for the October release!  Today we're showing you projects made with Who's That Girl Chooses Hope.  I'm just head over heels for these Who's That Girl images in a circle - love the different feel it gives the set.  I paired this single girl with some Echo Park Victoria Gardens papers and added a Simply Scallops Medium strip along the bottom.  I kept it simple with a pearl flourish and some black matting.

For the inside of the card, I used another piece of patterned paper cut with the same Simply Scallops Medium die as well as a wonderful sentiment from the set.  Along the bottom I stamped the flourish from Own Your Story.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - Get Sketchy

Hey all!  Happy Saturday!  So glad it's the weekend and I'm going to keep this short and sweet cause I'm headed out to teach some copic classes at my LSS.  The fabulous Pam has challenged us with a sketch for this week's Kraftin' Kimmie challenge.  I love sketches and this one was fabulous!

I used another stamp from the newly released O Holy Night Nativity set (illustrated by Cheryl Alger) and coloured it up to match my papers.  I think they're some old Stampin' Up ones.  I added a Fancy Flourish for the corner embellishment but other than that kept it pretty simple.

I finished up the inside using one of the stamps from the Nativity Sentiments set

So head over to the challenge blog to see the awesome samples from the Krafty Girls.  You'll find the sketch over there as well.  And don't forget about this week's Frugal Friday specials as well as Krafty Day!

MFT VIP Product Tour - Choose Hope

Hey friends!  I have a quick post for you tonight because it's time for this month's MFT VIP Collection.  This is your chance to get this month's Who's That Girl set a whole two weeks early.  I absolutely love this month's set - Who's That Girl Chooses Hope.  It comes with a free mini set (Choose Hope sentiments) and the brand spanking new unreleased Rolled Gardenia Die-namics die.  One of my good friends is right in the midst of cancer treatment so this set is especially dear to my heart.

I paired these friends with some My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Two papers and this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  I put my image on the smallest size of the Open Scallop Doily Duo die and added a Mini Rolled Rose cut from felt.  I also put the sentiment on one of the flags from the First Place Award Ribbon die.

Here's all the details about this month's VIP Collection.  Remember that this is a limited quantity product and I know this one's going to go fast.  Make sure you head over to Kim's blog for all the details and links to all the designers sharing their gorgeous projects.

Krafty Peeks - Seraphina!

Happy Saturday friends!  I'm so happy that it's the weekend - it has seemed like a long week.  Today we're showing you peeks of Annie's new angels as well as playing along in this week's challenge.  If you join us in making a Christmas card with any Kraftin' Kimmie stamp, you could win Aurelia just for playing along.  And speaking of winning, as you go through all the Krafty Peeks, you'll definitely want to leave comments, because 2 lucky people will each win 3 of Annie's new stamps, just for telling us what you think!

For my card today I decided to use Seraphina.  I just love her little birds and the way she's sitting.  I paired her with some My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Christmas papers as well as September's Sketch For You To Try.  I just love this month's layout.  I coated her wings with my Spica pen for a little glitter and decided to colour my birds up to resemble cardinals.

I finished the inside of the card off with the sentiment that comes with Seraphina as well as her accessory stamp.

Go check out the Challenge Blog to see what all the fabulous Krafty Girls have created for you to see!  Annie's angels are absolutely gorgeous!  And don't forget to leave those comments for your chance to win!  I'll see you early tomorrow morning for our new release blog hop!  Have a great Saturday!

Krafty Peeks - Balancing Elf!

Welcome back for Day 2 of Krafty Peeks for the September Kraftin' Kimmie release.  All of the new stamps will be available on Sunday Sept. 18th in the Kraftin' Kimmie store.  Today we're showing you 6 new images by Emilie Goulet - that's right six!!  I decided to use Balancing Elf for my card today.  I just love that big pile of presents and that bead of sweat rolling off his brow.  I paired him with some funky My Mind's Eye Christmas papers and split one of the sentiments from the new Christmas Interior Sentiments set by selectively inking it.

I finished the inside off with the remainder of the sentiment I used on the front and another whole sentiment from the new Interior Sentiments set.

Check out the Kraftin' Kimmie blog for links to all the fabulous Krafty Girls and Guests sharing peeks today.  And don't forget to leave comments as you visit as three lucky stampers will win free stamps just for commenting!  Thanks for stopping by!  I'll see you back here tomorrow for another peek and challenge day.

Krafty Peeks - O Holy Night Nativity Set

Welcome to Day 1 of Krafty Peeks for the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps September release.  This month we're all about Christmas!  So you'll have lots of time to get your handcrafted Christmas cards done right?  True confession time - I send out photo cards.  I stopped trying to make all my Christmas cards a couple of years ago.  I do still make Christmas cards - but I don't mass produce them anymore.

Today we're showing you Cheryl Alger's super cute O Holy Night Nativity Set.  This set has three gorgeous images and some great sentiments.  Here I've used the Shepherd image on my card and paired it with some older Basic Grey papers.  The sentiment is actually from the coordinating Nativity Sentiments Set.  It goes fabulously with Cheryl's set but also is totally appropriate as a stand alone sentiment set as well.

I used another one of the sentiments from the Nativity Sentiments set in the inside of my card to finish it off.

You'll definitely want to go check out the Kraftin' Kimmie blog for links to all the Krafty Girls and Guests sharing peeks today.  I've sneaked at some of their peeks and they are amazing!!  And don't forget to leave comments all around.  One lucky person will win Cheryl's whole Nativity set and the Nativity Sentiments set just for commenting!
Thanks so much for stopping by.  I'll see you back here tomorrow for another peek.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #37

Happy Wednesday and sketch challenge day.  Just a quick post to show you my sample for this week's sketch.  I've used Pure Innocence Caramel Apple and dressed her in some fall colours.  As much as I'm trying to deny it - I think fall is pretty much here.  I added some burlap for the vertical elements in the sketch and added on some Pretty Posies as well.  I also snuck in a Simply Scallops strip through the middle of the sketch.

On the inside I used a sentiment from the set as well as a couple more Simply Scallops strips of patterned paper.

Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog and the MFT forum on SCS (look for the most recent WSC thread).  You'll need to upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch. You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Go get sketchy with MFT!

MFT September Design Team Creative Challenge - No Colouring

In 2011, MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a new monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we're all putting down the markers, pencils and paints and sharing projects with No Coloring! Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge!

I have to admit that this challenge scared me a bit!  No colouring?  Really?  But I remembered seeing some of my fellow design team members emboss images in white other the last couple months and I figured it would work well for this challenge.  I used the tree from Inspired by Summer and stamped it in versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.  I stamped on some text paper for some visual interest.  The papers are all from My Mind's Eye and I matted my image on the Open Scallop Doily and embellished with the new Prima Donna Petals die.

I stamped the inside with the tree in a light yellow and a sentiment from the new set All Smiles over top in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

I hope you enjoy seeing all the designer samples and that you'll play along with us!  I'll see you back here tomorrow for the MFT Wednesday sketch challenge.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - Oldies but Goodies!

Happy Saturday all!  We made it through the first week back to school - so yippee for us!  It's time again for another Kraftin' Kimmie challenge and this week Amazing Angie is our hostess!  She wants us to dig deep and pull out and use our first Kraftin' Kimmie stamps.  What a fantastic challenge!!  I got busy digging through my stamps and discovered Lola Davinci.  She was in the first order I placed, and guess what?  She had never seen ink!  Gasp!  The horror!  I fixed that up quick by stamping her on some X-Press It blending cardstock and pairing her with some MME Lime Twist papers.  The layout came from Taylor's sketch challenge from the last couple of weeks although I moved things around a bit to fit my card a bit better.

I gave all the paint splatters a couple of coats of Sakura Clear Glaze pen and used some twine and a brad to "hang" her painting.

I hope you'll come play along with us over on the challenge blog.  Angie and I happened to use the same stamp, so if you link up your card made with a KK stamp, you could win your very own Lola!

And don't forget about this week's Frugal Friday specials.  There are SIX of our fabulous stamps on SALE 40-50% off all weekend long! This week's lineup includes: Sharing is Loving, Little Summer Girl,Virginia, Lily Lemon, Squirrel's Gift and Cheeky Monkey!  ALSO, we're having a little gift with purchase special this week! MFT September Shop & Hop - Spa Day!

Welcome to the new release blog hop!  If you've just stumbled upon this post you'll want to start back at the beginning of the hop - over at Kim's blog.  All of the new products are now available and you can find them right HERE.  I have one last project to share with you using the new Pure Innocence Spa Day set.  I just love this little cutie in her bathrobe and so I made a little gift packaging  to go with my card.

I paired my pampered girl with some Doodlebug papers in soothing purple and greens.  Then because it was a bathrobe, I used my flocking technique (tutorial found HERE) to make her bathrobe all fuzzy and terrycloth like.  I also used some flocked paper and added a flower cut from the new Prima Donna Petals die as well as a strip cut with the Solid Bracket Border die.

Here's a close up of her bathrobe.  Perfect for a cool fall night like the one we're having!

Then I grabbed one of the clear paint cans I had lying around and stamped a sentiment from the set onto the new Dog Tag die.  The sentiment actually comes all on the same line so I selectively inked it to stamp it on the tag this way.  I tied it with some twine and added a center from the Prima Donna Petals die.

For the top of the can, I lined the lid with the larger size of the Dainty Doily duo and then added a couple flowers cut from the Prima Donna Petals die as well as one cut from the new Rolled Mum die.  Isn't it pretty? I SO need to make a home decor project with these flowers.

Well that's all I've got for you tonight!  Thanks for sticking around through all my pictures.  I can't wait to hear what you're excited about and what is going in your cart tonight!  Don't forget to leave comments along the hop as one designer is holding a gift voucher and will draw randomly from the comments left on their blog.  Now you're on your way to my sweet and amazingly talented friend Barbara.

Pep Rally - First Class Friend Shaker Card

Now that we've teased and tempted you all week long, it's almost time for you to grab all of your favorite Brand Spankin' New products from MFT.

But first…it's time for our Die-namics Feature and Pre-Release PEP Rally!  Our Design Team has been busy creating jaw-dropping and inspiring projects for you, and we've saved the best for last.  Here is an in-depth look at this month's Die-namics, with an opportunity to revisit the amazing sets being released tonight at 10pm EST RIGHT HERE.  And while we are at it, how about we make your life even easier with a "cheat sheet" of all that's new?  Head over to the MFT Blog to print out a shopping list.

As I was stamping for this release, I discovered what that the new First Class Friend die makes a quick and easy shaker card.  I must admit that I'd never made a shaker card before, but it was super easy.  I took lots of pictures to show you my process - so fair warning!

I started by constructing the base of my card.  I stamped some sentiments from the First Class friend stamp set on a blue middle piece and die cut 2 of the yellow outer frames.  I glued the middle sentiment panel down along with one of the outer frames.  I took the second outer frame and ran red line tape along the back.

I peeled the back off the adhesive and stuck a piece of acetate to it.  My acetate measures 2 and 1/4" by 3 and 1/8".  I also took some foam dimensional tape and ran it along the outer frame that was already adhered to the card base.

I filled the frame with some micro beads and then carefully peeled the backing from the foam tape.  I took the second frame with the acetate adhered and layered it over top of the first frame - lining up all the notches on the frame.

And here you can see a close up of the finished shaker portion of my card.  I also used the new Prima Donna Petals die to embellish and Pure Innocence Feeling Froggy as well.

I hope you'll be inspired to look at your dies differently too!  I love how versatile they can be!

MFT Teasers - Pure Innocence Little Witch

Happy Labour Day and welcome back for Day 6 of MFT Teasers for the September release.  It's Pure Innocence day and we have 5 fabulous new sets to share with you.  I've chosen to show you Little Witch.  I decided to colour her up a la "Elphaba" (love me some Wicked!).  I cut her out and mounted her over top of some Echo Park paper from last Halloween.  I used the new Woodgrain Fence die and the new Branch With Leaves die to create a little scene.  I love how the fence is scaled to fit with some many of the MFT stamps that I own!

I took a close up shot here so you can see how well the new Woodgrain Fence die embosses the texture right into the die cut.  I only own a Cuttlebug and this was a single pass through the machine.  The texture is quite deeply embossed.  I sponged some ink onto my Fossil cardstock to highlight the woodgrain.

I finished the inside of my card off with some patterned paper cut with the Solid Bracket Border die and stamped the witch and a sentiment as well.
