Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - You want me to do what?

Happy Saturday all!  It's time for another Kraftin' Kimmie challenge and this week Carole is trying to kill me!  Seriously - she wants us to use hand stitching!  Can you believe it?  Humph!  The nerve!

Well I buckled under pressure and managed to stitch on my felt flowers, even if it took me forever.  I used this sweet little girl called Sweet Friends and paired her with some shapes, a doily, and some MME Lime Twist papers.  I die cut some felt flowers and then stitched them together with some embroidery floss.  Then I stuck a Maya Road resin flower on top.

For all the challenge details and your chance to win some free rubber, you're going to want to check out the KK challenge blog.  Well friends, I'm keeping this short and sweet!  Hope my American readers have a  wonderful long weekend!

Scrapbook Queens May Design Team Projects

Hello there!  I wanted to pop by and share the remainder of my Scrapbook Queens design team cards for this month.  We were playing with some American Crafts Dear Lizzy Enchanted papers.  I also used this opportunity to catch up on some of the MFT sketches I have missed.

For my first card, I used Sketch #20 and the Well Worn Greetings stamp and die set.  I turned my oval instead of nesting it in the bigger shapes.  I also omitted the heart when I inked my sentiment stamp and inked it with a pink marker instead.  I also used the Hearts A Plenty die and the Simply Scallops Medium die.

For my second card I used the Just My Type stamp set and die.  I am seriously in LOVE with this set.  I added a bit of denim behind my typewriter and some ruffled ribbon for a little contrast.  This was MFT Sketch # 18.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'll see you back here on Saturday with another Kraftin' Kimmie challenge!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #21

Happy Wednesday!!  It's a short week up here in Canada since we had a holiday on Monday and the week is flying by!  I haven't had a chance to play along with the MFT sketch challenge for a couple weeks now, so I was determined to make it happen this week!

I used some MME Lime Twist papers and paired them with the Fly a Kite die stacked on top of the Four Point Frame die.  I also snuck in the Fresh Cut Grass die and the Open Zig Zag Border die.

I finished the inside off with the negative portions of the zig zag and grass dies (waste not, want not!) as well as a sentiment from Inspired by Up, Up, and Away.

Here's this week's sketch!

Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog and the MFT forum on SCS (look for the most recent WSC thread).  You'll need to upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch. You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Go get sketchy with MFT!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - Text!

Hey everyone!  It's Saturday and that means it's time for another Kraftin' Kimmie challenge.  This week Tara has asked us to think text!  All the details can be found over on the challenge blog!

I went both with some text paper, as well as a sentiment stamps for my image panel.  This is from the new Scripture Quotes just released this month.  I also used this week's Mojo Monday sketch as well as my design team kit from Scrapbook Queens which was full of some yummy American Crafts papers.

I hope you'll play along!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Well it's a long weekend here in Canada, so I'm going to go enjoy the sun while it lasts!  Have a wonderful weekend!

MFT VIP Hop - Enjoy the Ride!

Welcome to this month's MFT VIP Hop.  The VIP kit is a limited quantity pack that lets you purchase June's Who's That Girl set and one of the new June Die-namics 3 weeks early!  To start at the beginning of the hop, you'll want to head over to Kim's blog.

I stamped out this free wheeling girl on X-Press It blending cardstock and coloured her with my copics.  I paper pieced her shirt with some Lily Bee Happily Lost paper - the same paper included in the VIP kit.  I also used the new die included in the kit - Simply Scallops Large.  I added a Pretty Posie, some baby brads and a bit more of that dyed seam binding that I talked about earlier today.

On the inside of the card I added another Simply Scallop Large strip as well as a sentiment from the free exclusive mini set in the kit.  Then I added some leftover Pretty Posies for good measure.

Here's what's included in this month's kit.  These generally go fast, so hurry over and nab one up!

Don't forget that the new à la modes are released tonight as well!  Thanks for stopping by.  Your next stop along the hop is to my super talented, and super sweet friend Sherrie (who I get to see in person in a couple of weeks!)

MFT Teasers - I Treasure Our Friendship

Hello again!  I'm back with another MFT teaser for the second à la mode being released tonight!  This set is called I Treasure Our Friendship and I think it's a super fun set with some awesome sentiments.

I had a lot of fun making this card.  I stamped my image on X-Press It blending cardstock and coloured her with copics.  I took some October Afternoon Seaside papers and actually crumpled up the map piece into a little ball.  Then I inked it with tea dye and took my handy dandy bbq lighter, and burned the edges.  Can you see?  Reminded me of being in school and completing projects for some reason.  I also cut some cork out using the Well Worn Greetings die and sponged the edges with a couple different colours of ink.  The base of my card is Wild Cherry cardstock.  And isn't that seam binding pretty?  A couple of weeks ago, my friend Jen generously shared her seam binding with Lesley and I.  Lesley and I had fun getting all multi-coloured with her mists while Jen stamped.  And this is what resulted!  I love the look - thanks Jen and Lesley!

I finished the inside of my card off with the Simply Scallops Medium die and a heart from the Hearts a Plenty die as well as one of the sentiments from the set.

And here's some news!  In the past, we've released our à la modes images in cling rubber, however, this month, we're releasing both of our à la modes in clear photopolymer, just like the rest of our stamps.  This means that we can bring them to you a slightly lower price point than usual - $9.00 each!  How fabulous is that?!  Since our clear stamps are made in the USA, they are of the highest quality, so you'll have the same great image quality that you're accustomed to with any of our other clear stamps!

Make sure you check out the MFT blog for links to all the designers sharing teasers today.  And don't forget that these stamps will be released tonight at 10pm EST along with our VIP kit.  I'll see you back here tonight!

MFT Teasers - I Need Some Face Time

My how time flies!  Can't believe it's time for another set of MFT teasers.  We've got two new super sweet à la modes for you and the VIP kit releases tomorrow night as well.  Today we're showing you I Need Some Face Time - which is perfect for all your iphone addicted friends (as well as those who wish they were iphone addicted)!  For links to all the designers sharing teasers today - you'll want to head over to Kim's blog.

For my card, I stamped my à la mode on X-Press It blending cardstock and coloured her with copics.  The papers are all My Mind's Eye - mostly Lime Twist, but I did sneak in a pattern from Stella Rose as well.  I added a cork element cut with the Small Scallop Border die and a paper and a felt heart cut with the Hearts A Plenty die.  I also gave the phone a couple coats with my clear glaze pen.

Sweet deal right?

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll see you back here tomorrow for another teaser.

Kraftin' Kimmie Previews - Twisty Carole!

Welcome to Day 4 (and the last day) of May's Krafty Previews!  Like what you see so far?  Well you're in luck, cause there's so much more to come.  Today we're showing you Annie's new Moonlight Whispers stamps - or as Michele likes to call them "Twisty Girls".  Thus the name of my post, since this stamp is called Carole.  Why Carole you ask?  For my friend Carole, and in her honour, I just had to use her stamp today (It was calling me actually.  I think secretly, each Carole stamp is like a horcrux - just like in Harry Potter, LOL).  Carole is one of the funniest (and funnest) people I know, so I coloured her up to match.

I paired her with some My Mind's Eye Lime Twist papers - especially the chevron pattern, since I wanted to play along with the Chevron Chic Challenge over on the Moxie Fab World blog.  I pieced her shirt with the chevron paper as well as using it as my background.

Do you recognize the layout as well?  Yup - it's this month's Sketch For You To Try!  I'm loving this sketch and definitely wanted to give it another go.

To see more of Annie's Sporty girls, check out the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge blog for links to all the Krafty Girls and Guests.  And don't forget to leave comments as 2 random commentors will win free stamps!  All the new stamps will be released on Sunday May 15th (that's tomorrow!) so I'll see you back here for the release blog hop, k?  Have a great Saturday friends!

Kraftin' Kimmie Previews - Scripture Quotes

Well Hello!! And welcome back to Day 2 of the Kraftin' Kimmie peeks for the May release.  Today we're showing you the newest set of Krafty Quotes - called Scripture Quotes.  I was tickled pink to receive these stamps, as I've always wanted a Scripture set, but never actually bought one for myself.  The font in this set is gorgeous and I love the verses included!

For my card I stamped the verse on Cryogen White cardstock (it's all shimmery!) in Cool Caribbean ink.  I paired it with some Lily Bee This & That papers and a doily cut out of Kiwi Kiss cardstock.  I added some mini rose trim and a felt rolled rose as well.  The layout is essentially this week's Mojo Monday sketch (plus or minus a couple of elements - it's all good right?).

Kimmie is in such a great mood these days that she's giving away a set of Scripture Quotes to a random commenter.  So make sure you visit all the Krafty Girls and Krafty Guests and leave a comment to increase your chance of winning.  Links to all the designers can be found over on the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge blog.  And don't forget that all the new stamps will be available on Sunday May 15th.  I'll see you back here tomorrow for another preview.  Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments!

Kraftin' Kimmie Previews - I've Flipped For You!

Welcome to Day One of this month's Kraftin' Kimmie previews!  All of the new May stamps will be available on Sunday May 15th.  For links to all of today's gorgeous samples from the Krafty Girls and Guests, you'll definitely want to pop over to the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge blog.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is thrilled to introduce a new artist to the mix....her name is Cheryl Alger!  You may recognize her name from Sassy Cheryl's where she creates digital art.  Cheryl is creating a brand NEW line of images, specifically for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!  These stamps will ONLY be available at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and ONLY as unmounted rubber stamps!  Now here's a bit about Cheryl!
I grew up outside of Staunton, Virginia, but now live in the Richmond, Virginia. I absolutely LOVE to draw and always carry a small sketchbook with me in case inspiration strikes me while I'm out and about.  I have been creating digital art now for about 12 years now and have licensed my work to companies such as Kohl's, Hobby Lobby and Shopko, among others, for over eight years. I started creating digital images about two years ago. It's been a lifelong dream to become a working artist, and besides deadlines, I LOVE everything about what I do! It really helps that I have a very supportive husband and son (they also can be my biggest critics!).  I have to admit. I LOVE my job!

Today I chose to use Cheryl's Little Summer Boy!  He comes with this incredibly cute sentiment as well.  This image reminds me so much of my son - especially that mischievous little smirk on his face!  I sponged around the image with some Memento Tangelo ink and paired it with some My Mind's Eye Stella Rose papers.  I also paper pieced his swim trunks and added some felt waves and some orange twine.  The layout comes from Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch challenge (which I of course flipped).

Guess what?  Kimmie is giving away a whole pack of Cheryl's new stamps!  All you have to do is leave comments  as you visit the Krafty Girls and Guests and one winner will be chosen at random and announced on the challenge blog tomorrow!

I hope you enjoy today's peeks, and I'll see you back here tomorrow for more!  Thanks for stopping by.

May Sketch For You To Try

Happy Saturday all!  It's the first Saturday of the month and that means it's time for a new Sketch For You To Try!  This month's sketch is fabulous (as always) and we have an awesome sponsor - Your Next Stamp.  I was lucky enough to meet the wonderful people at YNS last month at Scrapfest.

I chose to work with this super cute new stamp - BBQ Scene.  We part own a couple of barbecue stores so I'm pretty sure I gasped when I saw this stamp at Scrapfest.  Oddly enough - this is pretty much how the back of our house looks too.  I coloured the image with copics and paired it with some Lily Bee This & That papers (which coincidentally I also picked up from YNS at Scrapfest).  I used a felt heart and a spatula charm for the smaller circle element in the sketch.  And as you can probably tell, I switched out my image shape since the stamp I was working with is in a square frame.

And lookie!  YNS has been kind enough to offer a discount code for you to use!  Here's all the details:

Here's this month's sketch:

And you'll definitely want to go check out the rest of my sketch sisters to see their amazing samples.  Also, you'll want to head over and meet our newest sister - the amazing Jen Tapler!  As well as this month's fabulous guest designer Kerri Michaud.

MFT May Shop & Hop

Good evening!  Did you make it over to the release party for this month's fabulous new MFT stamps and dies?  If you didn't, you missed out on lots of fun and freebies!  But welcome to the Shop & Hop - one last chance to see all of this month's products in use.  If you haven't arrived here via Lisa's blog, then you'll want to head back to the beginning - over at Kim's blog.

I get to show you the Just My Type stamp set and die.  I love this typewriter image and its matching die.  Perfect for quick cards and so easy to personalize.  It coordinates perfectly with the Typewriter Alphabet as well!  I decided to make a drawer box and some cards to go inside.  I followed this tutorial over on Splitcoast.  The papers are mostly all My Mind's Eye So Sophie and I paired them with Fossil and Black Licorice cardstocks.  I stamped the typewriter in Versamagic Onyx Black and then used clear embossing powder.  I finished the box off with a Scallop Ribbon Border and a Pretty Posie.

I only had time to create three cards for the box, but I will definitely be adding more!  Wouldn't this make a fantastic gift?

All of the new products are available right HERE!  Your next stop along the hop is the amazingly talented Sherrie!  I am so excited that I get to spend some time with her in just a couple of weeks.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Hopping and Shopping!
