Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - White on White!

Happy Saturday friends!  It's a been a busy week here as my kids had their last day of school on Thursday.  I did manage to squeeze in some stamping time and decided to tackle this week's KKS challenge.  The sweet Alice, has challenged us to make an all white card - except for the image panel that is. Gah!  Really?  Well I gave it a whirl and am actually super happy with how it turned out!

I coloured up one of the images from "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" but kept the colours soft so to blend a bit better with all the white.  I sponged in some ink around my nestability for a bit of depth.  I added a dry embossed background, some white pleated ribbon, and a white felt heart and button for embellishment.  I also stamped the sentiment in a white die cut cloud.  I can't believe that I made a card with no patterned paper on it!  Gasp!

I know I can count on my Krafty Girls to push me out of my comfort zone!  Who knew I'd actually like it?!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - Summer Fun!

Hey all!  Happy Saturday!  I hope you're enjoying your weekend thus far - and summer too for that matter!  It's been HOT here and so this week's Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge of "Summer Fun" was super appropriate!

I used a Lulu image from the Lulu On The Move set and paired her with some Echo Park Summer Days papers.  I love the bright colors in this paper pad!  I also used one of the Everyday Trinkets on my card and mounted it on a scallop circle punch for fun.

Krafty Hop - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

I used an image from the new Girls Just Wanna Have Fun set and paired it up with a layout from Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I love starting with a sketch - makes the card come together so much easier!  I grabbed some papers from the Paper Heart pad from Crate Papers and added some stitching and brads.  I used some MFT Die-namics for embellishments as well as for the border of my vertical panel.

Kraftin' Kimmie Sketch & Peter Pan Peeks!

Happy Saturday friends!  The last couple weeks have just flown by and I'm excited that it's finally time to share this month's Moonlight Whispers stamps with you.  You may have guessed that this month's theme is Peter Pan!  Remember that all the new stamps will be available tonight at midnight in the Kraftin' Kimmie Shop for your purchasing pleasure.

As always during a release, we're combining our sneak peeks with a sketch challenge.  Pam has whipped up a fabulous layout and I'm using Peter Pan for my image.  I coloured him up a la Disney and paired him with some Echo Park A Boy's Life papers since it had the greens I was looking for.  I kept my layers pretty minimal and added a banner for the sentiment and a star and button for the corner embellishment.  I actually used a sentiment from the Lost Boy stamp rather than the sentiment that accompanies Peter.

Krafty Peeks - DUDE!

Welcome back for more Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps sneak peeks!  Mark your calendars because all the new stamps will be available for purchase on Sunday May 17th.  Today we're showing you TWO new sets illustrated by Emilie Goulet and they're all about teens.  I've coloured up one of the images from "Smells Like Teen Spirit".  I just love the boy images in this set - they're perfect for my son's friends - even if they aren't teenagers yet!

I paired my image up with some denim looking paper from Authentique and added lots of sponging and distressing.  I also used one of the sentiments from the set and made a little jean tag with it.  I added boy embellishments - brads, twine, and buttons!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Peeks - Thank You Trinkets!

Our very own Nicole is the illustrator behind these trinkets and this month she's created a set perfect for all the thank you cards you could ever need!  I decided to do something a little different and used one of the larger stamps as a center for my flower.  I framed my 1 3/4" circle with my blossom Nestabilities and created a stem out of ribbon.  I also added a page pebble to the middle of the trinket for embellishment.

I've also used this month's Sketch For You To Try for my layout.  The stars fit perfectly into my card, but of course you can switch them out for flowers, or buttons, or whatever fits your design.

I chose this whimsical image to work with today.  I love how she's hugging her knees (do mermaids have knees?).  I coloured her up to match my older Echo Park papers and used this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  I added some chunky glitter to her tail for a bit of sparkle too.

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek - Oh Canada!

Happy Monday!  I'm back today with a super fun post.  A while ago I received an email from the lovely Taylor VanBruggen asking me if I'd like to join in to show you a very special new Moka stamp being released this month.  Would I?  I think it took me all of a nanosecond to reply with a big yes!   Here's some details of what you need to know:

Here's the card I made with the new Moka Karen illustrated by fellow Canadian Nancy McKinney.  This super cute rubber set has six sentiments/images and is perfect for all the Canucks in your life or even just those who love the Great White North!  I just love seeing the Mounties in their red serge uniforms and I think this image is just fabulous.

One of my best friend's daughter has a birthday on July 1st - which is Canada Day - so this card will be perfect for her!

I used the "out of the box" Nestabilities technique to allow her flag to peek out of the image panel and paired her with some My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Dilly Dally papers.  I used a banner die for the sentiment and added some twine, buttons, and rhinestones for embellishment.

June Sketch For You To Try

Welcome to a new month and a new sketch over at Sketch For You To Try!  This month's sketch is pretty simple - but fabulous as usual and we're sponsored by Lil' Inker Designs.  Big THANKS to them!  They not only have super cute stamps but amazing dies as well!  

For my card today, I used a Lili of the Valley stamp and paired it with a sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Everyday Trinkets set.  I paired it up with some Doodlebug Sugar & Spice papers and added some twill ribbon and a die cut daisy for embellishment.  I also gave her jumper some white brads for buttons to add a bit of dimension.
