MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #51

Well good afternoon!  It's time again for MFT's Wednesday Stamp club sketch challenge.  I can't believe we're at week 51 - that's almost a whole year of sketches!  I've made an early resolution to participate in all the MFT sketch challenges next year!  I hope you'll help hold me to it!

For this week's sketch I pulled out one of my favorite Fred Bear stamps.  This is Fred Bear & the Megaphone and I just love the sentiments in this set.  I stamped him on X-Press It blending cardstock and coloured him with my copics.  See the texture on his fur?  I used the handy dandy blender solution on a rag trick to make him look fuzzy.  I love the dimension it adds.  I paper pieced his megaphone and used the "out of the box" technique so it protruded out of the image.  I figured my megaphone could do double duty as the tab portion of the sketch.  I added the Wonky Scallop border die along the bottom and the Button Quartet to cut a matching red button for the corner.  All of the patterned papers are Echo Park Winter Park collection.  

I stamped him again inside the card and added another sentiment from the set.  I also cut another strip of matching patterned paper again using the Wonky Scallop Border die for the top.

MFT Pure Innocence In The Air VIP Collection

Well hello!!  It feels like I've been away from my blog forever!  I took a little trip out of town and have been busy with Christmas preparations - as I'm sure you have as well.  It was so nice to take some "me" time and create these cards to share with you for tonight's VIP Collection New Product Tour.  We have another Pure Innocence Collection for you this month, you may remember that last month was the first time it was offered.   I know this one will sell out lightning fast too, so you'll definitely want to head over to the MFT store to purchase yours right HERE.

I paired Pure Innocence Jump For Joy with some October Afternoon Sidewalks papers and this month's Sketch For You To Try.  I stamped this cutie on some X-Press It blending cardstock cut with the Tag You're It die.  I paper pieced her cute little dress and did a bit of shading with my warm grey copi8cs and coloured her collar and belt with a R24 copic.  I decided to split one of the sentiments from the Exclusive VIP Sentiment set and stamped the first half on one of the Mini Tabs Foursome dies. I also used the new Rolled Scallop Flower that is included in the VIP collection with some felt and added it to the bottom of my card.  I also added some leaves cut with the Upsy Daisy leaves die for embellishment.  You may also notice the larger size die from the Dainty Doily Duo as one of my layers.  

I put the rest of my sentiment inside the card along with a portion of the image.  I ran a piece of patterned paper cut with the Little Open Scallop Strip die along the bottom as well.

Isn't this new flower gorgeous?  I must admit that I doctored these flowers a bit though.  Let me show you how.

Once I rolled my flower, I decided it was a little bigger than what I wanted for this card.  I think the size is fabulous, but I really wanted to create a cluster without taking away from the main image.  So I started rolling the flower and when I felt like the size was appropriate, I stopped and cut the felt.  I used some liquid glue to secure the flap to the side of the rolled flower.  Easy peasy! 

The full size flower is on the far left.  This is what it looked like rolled with my felt.  And next to it are the three I made with partial portions of the die.  They each took about half the original flower (so one flower die cut actually gave me two flowers).

I also decided to make another card with Pure Innocence Plane Amazing.  I paired her with some My Mind's Eye Fun Day papers and again decided to use the same sketch.  I used another of the tabs from Mini Tabs Foursome Dies and again I selectively inked the sentiment from the Exclusive VIP sentiment set (I didn't ink the "You're").  I used the little plane die that comes with the You Move Me Die set for embellishment as well.    

I stamped a sentiment from the set inside as well as the image again in Memento London Fog ink.  I also cut some patterned paper with the Wonky Scallop Border die - to mimic clouds.

Krafty Hop - Cheshire Cat

I chose to use the Cheshire Cat image and coloured him up in traditional pink/purple.  I cut him out and mounted him on a die cut branch on some woodgrain paper.  I did a bit of wonky stitching, added a speech bubble and called it done.  I just love this image!

Krafty Peeks & Challenge - Mad Hatter

Happy Saturday!  In addition to it being challenge day, it's also Moonlight Whispers preview day.  This month we're all about Alice in Wonderland!  Annie has illustrated some amazing images and I love them all (and know you will too!).   

Today's challenge is a sketch challenge and I decided to use Mad Hatter.  I coloured him with my copics and paired him with some Echo Park Times & Seasons papers.  I also added some crazy stitching and a button and twine.

Krafty Peeks - Hugs & Fishes

We're back today with peeks from Emilie Goulet's new sets for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  Here I've used the fish image from Lots of Love 1.  There are three adorable images in this set, and another three equally adorable images in Lots of Love 2.  I coated my fish with Stickles and used this week's sketch from the Sweet Sketch challenge.

Oh my!  It's a busy week here on my blog.  Today marks the start of Krafty Peeks for the December release.  All the new stamps will be available on Sunday December 11th in the Kraftin' Kimmie store.  Today we're showing you the new stamps by Cheryl Alger.  Sugar & Spice has 3 super cute images and 5 coordinating sentiments.  

I chose to use this cutie sitting on a bench with her kitty.  I paired her with some Basic Grey Picadilly papers and some stitching and pearls.

MFT New Product Tour - Baby Lamb in the Manger

I got to use this new Precious Little Lamb set - Baby Lamb in the Manger.  I stamped it on X-Press It blending cardstock and coloured it with my copics.  I built a manger for my image using the Woodgrain Fence die.  I cut it apart and used each picket as part of the manger.  I cut a star from glitter paper using the Stacking Star die and did some stitching.  

Inside the card I stamped the image in Memento London Fog and this fabulous sentiment included with the set.

MFT Pre-Release Pep Rally

I chose to work with the new All Star Die-namics and Stamp set.  My son plays basketball so I was tickled to see this set.  And it coordinates so well with many of the other existing sets in the  MFT store.  I cut a basketball out of some orange patterned paper and then went over the perforations/seams with a warm grey copic marker.  I also used the new banner die in the set along with the coordinating outline stamp and sentiment.  The I cut my son's jersey number out using the By The Numbers die and mounted it on the new Mix & Match Banner die.  I also decided to use the Just the Ticket Die-namics and Stamp Set for embellishment.

MFT Teasers - Frosty & Fabulous

Welcome back to Day 6 of MFT Teasers for the December release.  Today is Pure Innocence preview day - pretty much my favorite teaser day hands down.  There are 7 new PI sets being released this month and I couldn't wait to show you this new snowman - Frosty and Fabulous!

I kept my card pretty simple.  I used some copics on the snowman and did the blender solution on the rag trick for the scarf.  I haven't quite decided whether this is a female snow"woman" or a male snowman who is secure enough to pull off a pink scarf.  I'll leave it up to you to decide for yourself (LOL!).  The papers are all from My Mind's Eye and I used the Icicle Border die to cut some glitter paper and the First Place Award Ribbon die to cut my sentiment banner.

MFT Teasers - Hot Cocoa Cutie a la mode

Welcome back to Day 5 of MFT Teasers for the December release.  Today we're showing you the two new à la modes being released on Tuesday night.  I've chosen to work with Hot Cocoa Cutie.  And isn't she just?

I coloured her up with my copics and paired her with some Echo Park Winter Garden papers.  I started out with last week's Sweet Sunday sketch, but quickly veered off course (oops).  I added a sentiment cut from the new By The Letters dies, which are totally fabulous, and a snowflake cut from glitter paper from the Let It Snowflake Die.  I also added some liquid applique to the marshmallows in her mug.  I had planned to puff it up with my embossing gun, but decided I liked the way it looked without the heat.    

I finished the inside off with a sentiment from the set and one of the dies from the new Always Time for Tea die.

MFT Teasers - Always Time For Tea and December SFYTT

MFT Teasers - Clearly Sentimental About Christmas

Welcome back for Day 3 of MFT Teasers for the December release.  Today we're showing you last month's Triple Scoop set, which will be available to purchase this month, as well as December's Triple Scoop set.  This is a free set you receive when you spend $60 in the MFT store.  That's it!  No catch!  Cool eh?

I made a card with Clearly Sentimental About Christmas as I still have a couple cards to complete.  I used this week's MFT Sketch and chose to use the Layered Label Die for my sentiment.  I also layered 3 flowers cut from the Upsy Daisy die as I think they kind of look like Poinsettias too.  The papers are all Echo Park Seasons Greetings and I added some stitching and pearls for embellishment.

I finished the inside off with another sentiment from the set as well as an image from Inspired by Christmas that I coloured and cut out.

MFT Teasers - Fred Bear Gives Comfort

Welcome back for Day 2 of MFT Teasers for the December release.  Today we have a new Fred Bear set to show you and I think his timing is perfect with all the colds and flu that have been going around!  

I coloured Fred with my copics and layered him on top of the new Oval Open Scallop Doily die.  I paper pieced his blanket and I even gave him a real tissue popping out of the top of the box.  Super quick and easy to do and it made me smile!  I stamped a sentiment from the set on one of the new Mix and Match Banners and I also added a couple strips of Simply Scallops and a felt heart cut with the Hearts a Plenty die.

The BoBunny Snowfall papers and embellishments are the ones I was given from One Crazy Stamper. They felt warm and cozy to me.
