July Sketch For You To Try a la MFT

Happy first Saturday of the month to you!  And of course that means it's also time for July's Sketch For You To Try.  This month we are sponsored by one of my very favorite companies - MFT Stamps (My Favorite Things).  MFT was my first stamping love as well as my first major design team so they'll always have a big spot in my heart.

I must admit that this month's sketch gave me pause.  Not too much, but a little.  I decided to go with a sentiment stamps rather than an image - this is from the new Complimentary Greetings set and I used a whole schwack of Die-namics dies.  Behind the sentiment circle I used the smallest circle from the Open Scallop Doily Duo.  For my horizontal panel I used the Fishtail Flag Stax and for the vertical panel I used some creative license and substituted the Large Leafy Flourish.  I added some Mini Rolled Roses for embellishment as well as some stitching and sewing.  The papers are all from Echo Park This & That 6x6 pad and the cardstock is MFT Hot Fudge.

Here's this month's sketch!

You'll definitely want to hop over and see what the rest of my sketch sisters have cooked up for you - they're amazing!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - White on White!

Happy Saturday friends!  It's a been a busy week here as my kids had their last day of school on Thursday.  I did manage to squeeze in some stamping time and decided to tackle this week's KKS challenge.  The sweet Alice, has challenged us to make an all white card - except for the image panel that is. Gah!  Really?  Well I gave it a whirl and am actually super happy with how it turned out!

I coloured up one of the images from "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" but kept the colours soft so to blend a bit better with all the white.  I sponged in some ink around my nestability for a bit of depth.  I added a dry embossed background, some white pleated ribbon, and a white felt heart and button for embellishment.  I also stamped the sentiment in a white die cut cloud.  I can't believe that I made a card with no patterned paper on it!  Gasp!

I know I can count on my Krafty Girls to push me out of my comfort zone!  Who knew I'd actually like it?!

Make sure you hop over to the Krafty blog to check out samples from all the Krafty Girls and guests.  Don't forget that you could win a free stamp just for playing along!  Happy Canada Day weekend to my Canadian friends!

SFYTT June Recap

Hey friends!  I wanted to pop by and remind you that there's still time to play along with June's Sketch For You To Try!  Here's the two cards that I created with this month's sketch and the sketch as well.

A huge thank you to Lil' Inker Designs for sponsoring us this month!  You can submit your entry over on Jen's blog.  I'll see you back here on the first Saturday in July with a new sketch!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - Summer Fun!

Hey all!  Happy Saturday!  I hope you're enjoying your weekend thus far - and summer too for that matter!  It's been HOT here and so this week's Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge of "Summer Fun" was super appropriate!

I used a Lulu image from the Lulu On The Move set and paired her with some Echo Park Summer Days papers.  I love the bright colors in this paper pad!  I also used one of the Everyday Trinkets on my card and mounted it on a scallop circle punch for fun.

Remember that you can find samples from the Krafty Girls and Guests over on the challenge blog, and you could win a free stamp just for playing along!  And don't forget this week's Frugal Friday specials - stamps for 30-50% off!

Thanks for stopping by - have a great weekend!

Over the last few days in our Krafty Peeks, we have shared lots of AWESOME new stamps from all our artists!  We’ve got something for everyone!  Lulu is back from Cheryl Alger.....we know how much you love her.  And this time, she’s brought her sister.  So we have a new set called LULU AND LIBBY!  We also have TWO fantastic sets of SUPER COOL TEENS from Emilie Goulet called GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN and SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT.  And of course we have an amazing new set of six PETER PAN stamps from Annie Rodrigue, along with a perfectly coordinating set of PETER PAN SENTIMENTS.  OH and don’t forget the set in our BRAND NEW line of stamps called THANK YOU TRINKETS by the lovely Nicole Aspinall!

You will get to see most of the new images today as you sit back and enjoy our JUNE Krafty Hop!  If you want to start from the beginning, just head over to the Kraftin’ Kimmie Challenge Blog.  As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stampers will win packages of these incredible stamps from the new release.  And when you’re done hoppin’, be sure to head over to the Kraftin’ Kimmie shop, because ALL the new images are NOW available!

And of course, as always, we have our Gimme Kimmies Kits available for those of you who ‘need it all’.  The stamps are grouped together by artist and are available at a discount, but only for a limited time.

And don’t forget!  Our newest EXCLUSIVE Krafty Klubhouse Kit is NOW available!  This time we are featuring THREE new MERMAIDS along with SEVEN bonus sentiments in the set called SEA JEWELS.  And you can ONLY get it at the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Shop NOW!!

I used an image from the new Girls Just Wanna Have Fun set and paired it up with a layout from Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I love starting with a sketch - makes the card come together so much easier!  I grabbed some papers from the Paper Heart pad from Crate Papers and added some stitching and brads.  I used some MFT Die-namics for embellishments as well as for the border of my vertical panel.

Alrighty then - I'm sending you on your way!  You're off to see the madly talented Cheryl next!  Enjoy the hop!

Kraftin' Kimmie Sketch & Peter Pan Peeks!

Happy Saturday friends!  The last couple weeks have just flown by and I'm excited that it's finally time to share this month's Moonlight Whispers stamps with you.  You may have guessed that this month's theme is Peter Pan!  Remember that all the new stamps will be available tonight at midnight in the Kraftin' Kimmie Shop for your purchasing pleasure.

As always during a release, we're combining our sneak peeks with a sketch challenge.  Pam has whipped up a fabulous layout and I'm using Peter Pan for my image.  I coloured him up a la Disney and paired him with some Echo Park A Boy's Life papers since it had the greens I was looking for.  I kept my layers pretty minimal and added a banner for the sentiment and a star and button for the corner embellishment.  I actually used a sentiment from the Lost Boy stamp rather than the sentiment that accompanies Peter.

You can see all the gorgeous creations from the Krafty Girls and Guests over on the challenge blog.  And don't forget to leave comments on those Krafty blogs because a couple of lucky ladies will win some free stamps!

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll see you back here tonight for our new release blog hop!

Krafty Peeks - DUDE!

Welcome back for more Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps sneak peeks!  Mark your calendars because all the new stamps will be available for purchase on Sunday May 17th.  Today we're showing you TWO new sets illustrated by Emilie Goulet and they're all about teens.  I've coloured up one of the images from "Smells Like Teen Spirit".  I just love the boy images in this set - they're perfect for my son's friends - even if they aren't teenagers yet!

I paired my image up with some denim looking paper from Authentique and added lots of sponging and distressing.  I also used one of the sentiments from the set and made a little jean tag with it.  I added boy embellishments - brads, twine, and buttons!!

Links to all the Krafty Girls and Guests sharing peeks can be found over on the Krafty blog.  And don't forget to leave comments along the way because two lucky stampers will each win one of Emilie's new sets.  I'll see you back here tomorrow for another peek!

Kraftin' Kimmie Peeks - Thank You Trinkets!

I can't believe another month has passed and that it's time again for peeks into the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps June release!  You can find links to all the Krafty Girls & Guests over on the Kraftin' Kimmie blog.  You'll want to leave comments as you visit because one lucky stamper will win their very own set of Trinket stamps.

Our very own Nicole is the illustrator behind these trinkets and this month she's created a set perfect for all the thank you cards you could ever need!  I decided to do something a little different and used one of the larger stamps as a center for my flower.  I framed my 1 3/4" circle with my blossom Nestabilities and created a stem out of ribbon.  I also added a page pebble to the middle of the trinket for embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'll see you back here later for more peeks!

Sketch For You To Try Meets Kraftin' Kimmie Sea Jewels

Happy Saturday to you!  I'm back today with a card that fits both this weeks Kraftin' Kimmie challenge as well as June's Sketch For You To Try.

This week Jenny is our fabulous hostess and our challenge is "Under The Sea".  You can see all the fabulous cards cooked up by the Krafty Girls and Guests over on the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge Blog.  We've all used images from the brand new Sea Jewels Krafty Klubhouse set just released yesterday, but you can interpret the challenge however you see fit!

I've also used this month's Sketch For You To Try for my layout.  The stars fit perfectly into my card, but of course you can switch them out for flowers, or buttons, or whatever fits your design.

Remember you can enter over on Jen's blog and you can see what the some of my sketch sisters have created for you on their blogs.

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek - Oh Canada!

Happy Monday!  I'm back today with a super fun post.  A while ago I received an email from the lovely Taylor VanBruggen asking me if I'd like to join in to show you a very special new Moka stamp being released this month.  Would I?  I think it took me all of a nanosecond to reply with a big yes!   Here's some details of what you need to know:

June Release At a Glance

• We have sneak peeks to share Monday through Wednesday.  All of the new products will be available for purchase on Thursday, June 7th at 8 am PST. You'll find it all in the Fresh out of the Oven Department at the Taylored Expressions Store.
• Join us as a fan on Facebook for an early peek at the stamp sets, as well as a SPECIAL Facebook GIVEAWAY, on Wednesday night beginning at approximately 6 pm PST.

Here's the card I made with the new Moka Karen illustrated by fellow Canadian Nancy McKinney.  This super cute rubber set has six sentiments/images and is perfect for all the Canucks in your life or even just those who love the Great White North!  I just love seeing the Mounties in their red serge uniforms and I think this image is just fabulous.

One of my best friend's daughter has a birthday on July 1st - which is Canada Day - so this card will be perfect for her!

I used the "out of the box" Nestabilities technique to allow her flag to peek out of the image panel and paired her with some My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Dilly Dally papers.  I used a banner die for the sentiment and added some twine, buttons, and rhinestones for embellishment.

Thanks so much to the TE crew for inviting me to play along!  You'll definitely want to hop over and see what all these amazing stampers have cooked up for you to see.

June Sketch For You To Try

Welcome to a new month and a new sketch over at Sketch For You To Try!  This month's sketch is pretty simple - but fabulous as usual and we're sponsored by Lil' Inker Designs.  Big THANKS to them!  They not only have super cute stamps but amazing dies as well!

For my card today, I used a Lili of the Valley stamp and paired it with a sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Everyday Trinkets set.  I paired it up with some Doodlebug Sugar & Spice papers and added some twill ribbon and a die cut daisy for embellishment.  I also gave her jumper some white brads for buttons to add a bit of dimension.

Here's this month's sketch!  All of the details and the widget for linking up can be found over on Jen's blog.

You'll also want to head over and see what the rest of my sketch sisters have cooked up for you!  They're incredible talented and I'm so blessed to see my name alongside of theirs!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - Get Sentimental!

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenge!  This week our hostess with the mostess - Sharon - has challenged us to "get sentimental".  Our cards/projects must include a sentiment.  Easy peasy, right?

I had this cute little fairy from Flirty Fairies #2 and paired her up with some MME Sweet Caroline papers.  Instead of using a phrase sentiment, I decided to use another of these awesome Everyday Trinkets!  Our very own Krafty girl Nicole designed this set and I think it's fabulous and will definitely get tons of use on my cards!  I mounted my trinket onto a die cut flower and added some stitching and brads for embellishment.

Don't forget to hop over to the challenge blog to see all the beautiful creations from the Krafty Girls and Guests.  And you could win free stamps just for playing along!

As usual, the Frugal Friday specials are up too. There are 6 fabulous stamps on sale for 30-50% off but only for the weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!
