A Chichi Hop!!

Welcome to the Chichiboulie Blog Hop sponsored by Stamping Bella! If you've just happened upon my blog, you can CLICK HERE to start from the beginning at Bloggabella.

I actually only own one Chichi, but I do love her!! I used Wendy Papillion for my card and paired her with some Basic Grey Indian Summer paper. I paper pieced her apron and added glitter to her wings and the butterflies. I hope it looks like a fall blustery day! I am so in love with the ribbon rose in the top right corner. I cased it from this card by Regina. I simply punched a 1" circle out of cardstock and covered it in adhesive (I used my ATG gun). Then I twisted the ribbon and pushed it into the adhesive, starting in the middle. I wound it around itself until the entire circle was covered. It was super quick and easy and I love the look! Thanks so much for hopping by!

How about a prize? In addition to the fabulous eye candy, we have decided to hide a prize somewhere along the hop! One pre-selected blogger will draw a random winner from the comments on her post, and the winner will receive a $25 Gift Voucher to Stamping Bella!!! The fun part is...we're not telling you who it is! So as you hop, make sure you leave comments on every post so you have a chance to win!! We will announce the winner on Friday in the Splitcoast forum. MWAH!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Now it's time to hop on over to see Karolyn!

Halloween Teacher Treats!

I made some really quick Halloween treats for my son and daughters teachers. I had picked up this cute mummy stamp from the $1.50 bin at Michaels - so decided to go with a mummy theme. The papers are old KI memories and Creative Imaginations. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I whipped out three of these cards in 15 mins.

Then I bought some over sized Hershey bars and made a wrap for each bar. Then I turned them into mummies! Just some punched circles and torn cardstock sponged with Soft Suede ink. Super easy!

Make sure you check back tomorrow to see my card for the Stamping Bella Chichiboulie blog hop! It will be up at 11am EST!

Kidlet Bellarific Friday!!

I love to call my children by the name kidlets! Don't know why - just do! This is my entry for this week's Bellarific Friday. The theme was anything kid related and I had just gotten this new stamp - Noah the Computer Guy! I paired him with some Cosmo Cricket Early Bird paper and added some brads and hemp twine. This one will go to my son, who is in need of a little encouragement!

I am so excited because I signed up to take a couple of classes at Stamping Bella in a couple of weeks. I am taking a copic class with Lindabella and a pencil class with Paulabella! I can't wait!
And there are new releases over at Stamping Bella today, so I'm anxious to see the new rubber!

Anyway, I'm off to the pumpkin patch with my dd's preschool. I have another post going up tonight with some of my Halloween treats and also one tomorrow for the Bella Chichiboulie Blog Hop!! So check back k? Later taters!

Elegant Polar Love!

Well...here's my entry for week 3 of MFT's So you think you can stamp contest. Our theme this week was the waltz. I decided to pull out these polar bears that are being released next week. I got them for purchasing a certain amount last month.

I actually had a lot of fun with this card. I pulled out some Basic Grey Figgy Pudding paper that I've been hoarding and drew my hills freehand. I adhered each layer separately and stitched each layer. I added some dazzling diamonds glitter to the edge of each hill. I paper pieced the scarves using the same cardstocks and stamped them with smaller patterns from a couple of other sets. I cut some linen thread and adhered it to the scarves as the fringe.
The ribbon was done by simply running the ribbon through by itself and then pulling on one of the threads to ruffle it. I adhered it down with some glue dots and stitched the button into place.
Well..that's all I've got!! I'm off to wait for my hubby to get home from the airport! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Buttony Bowed Monsters!

Hello friends!! I finally had a chance to stamp yesterday and was able to make a card to enter into Joanne's blog candy draw. Joanne created an awesome video tutorial for her buttony bows and challenged us to make a card including one for her birthday blog candy celebration.
I decided to get these cute little Stamping Bella Monsters inky and paired them with some Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper as well as some Bermuda Bay cardstock. For the layout, I used Jen's Sketch for you to Try from this week as I fell in love with this sketch! I watched Jo's video and tried my hand at the bow. What do you think? Not bad for a bow challenged lefty eh?
Alrighty then - I'm off to rake a whole ton of leaves and do some laundry and baking! No rest for the wicked! Hope you're enjoying the last of your weekend! Later taters!

Enjoy this commercial break....

So I figured since I haven't had a chance to stamp and don't have anything paper craft related to share, that maybe you'd enjoy a recipe? This is one of my faves!

Corn Flake Caramels

3 bars Mackintosh Toffee
3 tbsp butter
3tbsp sweetened condensed milk
3-4 cups of cornflakes

Melt the toffee and butter in a pot. When soft, add milk and cornflakes. Press into a greased square pan.

Now for you Americans, Mackintosh Toffee is the best toffee in the world. It comes in bars and is originally from England.

Tragically, I can't find it here anymore. This last time I made these, I ended up using the square caramels (like the Kraft ones). I think I substituted about 22 for 1 bar. So you'd need 66 caramels.

Just be warned - these are the kind of thing where you could eat the pan if you weren't careful! Not that I would know about that!
Have a great Friday friends! I'm hoping to stamp this weekend so I'll have something to share!

MFT So You Think You Can Stamp?!

Remember MFT Idol?? Well MFT is running another contest - this time titled "So you think you can Stamp?". Obviously it's based on the tv program So you think you can Dance. The first week entries are due tonight by midnight so I've been working hard on my entry.

This week's theme was "West Coast Swing – All the cool kids are doing it, and so can YOU! This is a dance filled with FUN! Think lift, flip and spin! MFT Stamps must be the prominent images used on your project." I went through a couple different ideas before I settled on doing a moving/magic circle card. I used a couple different tutorials - but mainly this one by Jackie Topa. Basically you rotate the circle using the tab and the first image is hidden and the second is revealed. Here are a couple of pics showing the transition:

Starting position:
1/4 turn:
1/2 turn:
3/4 turn:
End Position:
I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out. I don't make a lot of technique cards so it took a couple of tries before I got it right. The green and blue panels are sewn on and the paper is from a K & Co. Carolyn Gavin stack.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Later taters!

More Lego!

I still haven't stamped but had to share the cake I made for my son's birthday party. When my husband's appendix burst last week, we had to cancel my son's party. We rescheduled for today and so here is the finished product! It turned out so well (if I do say so myself). This is actually the 4th time I've made this cake. The first time was a test run but when I iced it with buttercream icing, we lost all of the details on the cake. The second time was also a test run, this time using fondant to see if it would work (I have never worked with fondant before!). It worked, so I made a third cake on the day of the party. Well - hours later I was cancelling the party. Finally - the finished version! This was made from a cake mold that we bought at the Lego store. The fondant was the premade primary pack, purchased from Michaels.
Hope you're having a great weekend! This is our Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada so I'm looking forward to turkey and pumpkin pie tomorrow!

Enjoy the Ride Under the Wire!!

I actually made this card last weekend, but haven't had a chance to post it until today. I used the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges and my Papertrey Everyday Button Bits. I also got out my Cosmo Cricket Early Bird patterned paper. Although this card was relatively simple, it took me a while to "get it right". I adore this stamp set and cannot wait to use it some more!! This card is going to one of our small group leaders from Church who is going on a mission to Haiti next week. I think the sentiment is totally appropriate!!
Hope you have a great weekend! We're all sick here and we have my son's birthday party tomorrow. But it's all good! Later taters!
