MFT Teasers - Clearly Sentimental About Success

Happy Saturday!  I am so glad that the weekend is here!  It has seemed like a long week - even though it was technically a "short" week.

Today I have a card to show you with Clearly Sentimental About Success.  This was last month's Triple Scoop set and will be fully released on Tuesday May 3rd.  I've used a whole bunch of Die-namics on this card too.  I've used the Decorative Doily die and paired it with the new Decorative Doily Duo!  This new pair of dies is sized perfectly to nest with the original one - as you can see with my card here. I also used the Stacked Open Scallop die along either side of my patterned paper panel.  The papers are Echo Park Be Mine.

Here are all the important details:
  • The MFT release is on May 3 at 10 PM EST. You can attend the release party from 8-10 PM EST here in the forum for fun, games, and prizes! All the new sets and dies will be available on May 3 at 10 PM EST.
  • The guest designer contest is ON! Check out the forum for details on how YOU can win over $100 in stamp sets and play along with the DT for a month.
  • If you'd like to see all the teasers for today, please click on over to Kim's blog NOW! Be sure to leave comments as you go for a chance to win one of two $10 vouchers being given away daily, just for leaving a comment. :) Check Kim's blog every day for the winners.
I'll see you back here tomorrow for another teaser - it's Pure Innocence day!  Thanks for stopping by.

MFT Teasers - Well Worn Greetings

Welcome to Day 1 of the MFT Teasers for the May Release!  Today I have a card using the new Well Worn Greetings stamp and die set.  I love all the elements in this new set and die combo and I also snuck in a couple of the other new dies being released this month as well.

Here I've used all three pieces of the die, along with the denim background stamp, the oval distressed outline stamp and one of the fabulous sentiments.  I am so tickled with that back panel from the die set.  I stamped Fossil cardstock with blue bayou ink and used some distress ink around the edges.  It looks identical to the real denim I've used with the new Scallop Ribbon die-namics and the new Rolled Daisy die-namics.  The papers are all from My Mind's Eye Stella Rose line and I added some stitching and rhinestones.

I made this card with this month's Guest Designer challenge in mind as well!  Check out the thread over in the MFT forum for all the details - but our theme this month is Blue Jeans and Bling!  I hope you'll play along!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #17

Happy Wednesday!  It's that time of the week for another MFT sketch challenge.  As usual, I couldn't use the sketch as is (that would be way TOO easy for me!) and I flipped it upside down.  Mainly because I wanted this cute little PI girl facing into my card, not away off the card.  This is Pure Innocence Crazy for Daisies and I trimmed her daisies out of the box and paired her with some more of that yummy Lily Bee Picket Fence paper.

I used the Dainty Lace border for my horizontal elements and added an Upsy Daisy for my embellishment.  I couldn't make the tab work for me, so I replaced it with a butterfly.

I finished the inside off with the Simply Scallops die as well as another Dainty Lace border and a daisy.  I love this sentiment that comes in the set.

Here's this week's sketch:

Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog and the MFT forum on SCS (look for the most recent WSC thread).  You'll need to upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch. You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Go get sketchy with MFT!

I'll see you back here on Friday for the first day of MFT Teasers!

Scrapbook Queens April Design Team Projects

Hey all!  Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend!  I wanted to pop by and share a couple of the cards I made with this month's Scrapbook Queens design team kit.  We were working with Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers and some fun embellishments.

For this first card I used MFT's Own Your Story stamp set and Four Point frame die.  I stamped it on Kraft paper with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  I distressed all the edges and sponged them with some tea dye as well.  The flower and butterfly were both embellishments included in our design team kit.

My second card was a bit of a risk for me.  I must have waffled back and forth for over a half an hour about this card.  I had this paper with a beautiful butterfly, and I really wanted to use the butterfly as the focal point of the card - but I couldn't get over the feeling that it was just a little creepy.   I decided to use some vellum over top of the patterned paper to soften some of the details - and make it seem a little less creepy.  I stamped a sentiment from this month's Triple Scoop set - Clearly Sentimental About Success (the triple scoop set is free with the purchase of three full sized sets) onto some wide twill and used some tea dye on it as well.

I also used the 3/8" Rosette die to add a pleated paper border along the bottom of the twill.  Karen Motz, one of our fabulous challenge team member, actually has a fabulous video on her blog HERE on how to use this die to make a pleated panel.

If you're interested in seeing what the rest of the Scrapbook Queens design team did with these gorgeous papers, you can check out the design team gallery right here.  Thanks for stopping by today - I'll see you back here tomorrow for another MFT sketch challenge!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #16

Top of the morning to you!!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another MFT sketch challenge.  I must admit that I loved this week's sketch - I wasn't sure I would at first, but it all came together really well.  For my card I used Claire Keay's Hello Sunshine and paper pieced her hat and sweater with patterned papers.  The papers are actually from this month's Scrapbook Queens design team kit and they are Bo Bunny Gabrielle.  I gave her sweater some brad buttons and mounted her on the new Open Scallop Doily die.  The rest is all pretty straightforward.

Here is this week's sketch:

MFT VIP Hop

Welcome to the MFT VIP Hop.  This is your chance to see the May Who's That Girl set before it's released on May 3rd.  The VIP kit is available for one day only or while supplies last.  It also includes one of the fabulous Die-namics being released in May as well as an exclusive mini set for free!  If you've just stumbled upon this post, you'll want to go back to the beginning of the hop - at Kim's blog

I had so much fun playing with this stamp.  I love her dress and it's super easy to paper piece.  I stamped her on some X-Press It blending cardstock and coloured her with copics.  The papers are all Lily Bee Picket Fence (which is the paper pad included in the VIP package) and I roughed them up and stitched them down.  I coloured some white satin ribbon with my copics to match and added some of that gorgeous rose trim.  As a finishing touch I added a flower made with the Upsy Daisy Flower Builder die (currently being re-stocked).  It's a dream to make such a gorgeous looking flower with so little effort!

I finished the inside off with my favorite sentiment from the exclusive mini set included in the VIP kit and added another flower.

Both of the new à la modes and the VIP kit are now on sale in the MFT boutique.  Thanks so much for hopping by!  Now you're headed over to see the fabulously talented Sherrie.  I know she has something amazing to show you!

MFT Teasers - Grad Girl à la mode

Welcome back to the second day of MFT teasers for this month's à la mode release.  Both new stamps as well as the VIP kit will be released tonight at 10pm EST.

This little cutie is called Grad Girl and is perfect for all those upcoming graduation festivities.  She comes with some great sentiment and of course her larger than life diploma!  Here I've stamped her on X-Press It blending cardstock and paired her with some Echo Park Off the Record patterned papers and some Sno Cone and Fossil cardstocks.  I also used the Dizzy Border and both the Rolled Flower and Mini Rolled Rose (currently being re-stocked) dies.

The layout is this week's Cardabilities sketch.

To see a list of all the designers sharing teasers today you'll definitely want to check out Kim's blog.  I'll see you back here tonight for the VIP hop!  Thanks for stopping by.

MFT Teasers - Dream Big à la mode

Happy Monday and welcome to the first day of the à la modes teasers for April.  We have two super cute new stamps as well as the VIP kit being released Tuesday night at 10pm EST.

Today's à la mode is called Dream Big and I just love the way she's perched on the moon.  I stamped her on X-Press It blending cardstock, coloured her with copics, and cut her dangling leg "out of the box" and mounted her on the Dizzy Doily die.  I also used the Stacking Stars die and mounted part of one of the accompanying sentiments on the circle as well.  I used Lily Bee This and That papers and paired them with MFT Wild Cherry, Black Licorice, and Banana Split cardstocks.

For links to all the designers sharing teasers today, you'll want to check out Kim's blog.  I'll see you back here tomorrow with another teaser!  Have a great day!

Kraftin' Kimmie April Release Krafty Hop

Today Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps is releasing their new APRIL stamps!

Hey all!  Surprise!  Today I'm participating in the Kraftin' Kimmie release Krafty Hop since I was lucky enough to snag a couple of new images at Scrapfest last weekend!  I am so in love with these little fairies and can't wait to get them all inky.

As you’ve seen over the last few days in our Krafty Peeks, we have AMAZING new stamps for you to play with this month!  We have some beautiful FAIRIES just in time for spring, from Annie Rodrigue!  There are some more adorable Dress Up Kids from Steven Leary and we have a super fun new set of Krafty Quotes for you as well!

You will get to see most of the new images while you sit back and enjoy our Krafty Hop!  You’ll see all the Krafty Girls, as well as some very special Krafty Guests along the way!! If you want to start from the beginning, just head over to the Kraftin’ Kimmie Challenge Blog!  As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stampers will win packages of stamps from the new release!!  And when you’re done hoppin’, be sure to head over to the Kraftin’ Kimmie shop, because ALL the new images are NOW available!

For my card today I used Isabelle although I must admit to switching out the sentiment ( I used Lilybelle's sentiment instead).  I paired her with some Basic Grey Hello Luscious papers and some prima flowers and lots of stitching!  The sentiment is stamped on a cloud die and matted with a larger cloud.

I gave her wings some glitter with some stickles and the layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch challenge from last week.

Thanks tons for stopping by today!  Now you're on your way to my sweet tea-drinking friend Andrea.

Moxie Fab Bellarific Friday!

Happy Friday friends!  It's been forever since I've played along with a Bellarific Friday over at the Stamping Bella blog but when I saw this week's sketch, I knew that I wanted to use the new stamp I picked up at Scrapfest last weekend.

This is Perk Me Up Peeps and since it is coffee themed - it had to come home with me!  I also used this week's Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab blog.  I obviously drew my colour inspiration from the picture as well as the oval frame, the scallops and the distressed edges.  The papers are Lily Bee This and That and I added a flower and sentiment to the sketch for fun.  I'm not sure if you can see in this picture but I coated the coffee cup lid with some Glossy Accents since there's so much shiny goodness in the Tuesday Trigger picture (that gorgeous red dresser....sigh).

This is the first time I've played along with a Tuesday Trigger but definitely won't be the last - I had a blast!  Em will have all the bellarific entries on her blog sometime today so make sure you check them out.

Tomorrow I get to hang out all day at Scrapbook Queens for their Queens Crop.  The entire design team will be there and we're happy to chat, share tips, etc...  If you're local I hope you'll come and join us!

Sketchy Well Wishes

Happy Thursday all!  I'm back today with a Get Well card I made for a friend.  I way dying to use April's Sketch For You to Try again and this cutie pie fit into the sketch perfectly.  I did switch the sketch up a wee bit to fit a standard A2 card as this is going into the overseas mail and I didn't want to incur extra postage.

I used Pure Innocence Better Get Better and stamped her on X-Press It blending cardstock.   I paired her with lots of different My Mind's Eye Stella Rose papers and used some MFT Hot Fudge cardstock as well as some SU Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  I kept the embellishments really simple since it's expensive enough to mail overseas - so I added only some stitching and some buttons cut with the Button Quartet die.

I finished the inside off with a Simply Scallops strip and a heart from the Hearts A Plenty die.  I also decided to use both sentiments that come with this image.

Here's this month's sketch!  I hope you'll play along and link up over on Jen's blog.  All the details can be found HERE.  Big thanks to our April sponsor - Unity Stamps!

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll see you back here tomorrow!

MFT Creative Challenge - For the Kids

It's time for the MFT April Design Team Creative Challenge and this month the theme is "For the Kids".  We were to make a gift item for a child.  Perfect timing for me since I've been looking for a solution to the 60 pencil crayons that have been lying on my family room floor!  My daughter is currently obsessed with colouring (I have no idea where she gets it from?!) and so routinely dumps out the entire box of pencil crayons so she can find the one she needs. She also loves to make cards for people - but her idea of cards is using the blank Christmas cards from the art center at school.  So I did what any self respecting cardmaking mother would do - I stamped her some images to colour so we can turn them into "proper" cards.

This is an empty coffee can that I covered with Echo Park Be Mine paper and then added a decorative strip made out of the Jumbo Scallop die and the Scalloped Scallop die.  I also added a 3/8" Rosette and a flower from the Perfect Petal Trio die.

I found an empty tin that I had on hand and covered it with the same papers.  I used Pure Innocence You Color My World (currently being restocked) and added the new Fishtail Banner along with the Typewriter Alphabet (currently being restocked).  I also used another flower from the Perfect Petal Trio and a Rolled Flower made from felt (which  doesn't look like a big black blog in real life!).

I added some more paper to the inside and then stamped over 20 Pure Innocence images on various shapes. This should make it easy to make them into cards later.

I barely had time to take pictures of my set when my daughter absconded with it.  She's already coloured 2 of the images and is having a ball.  She loves the colours (pink is her fave) and that it has her name on it.  And guess what else?  The pencils are going back in the tin, not all over the floor!  All in all I'm calling this one a success!

I know that my MFT sisters have some amazing projects to show you and inspire you.  Check out Kim's blog for links to all the designers sharing kids gift ideas today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
