MFT Teasers - Pure Innocence You Color My World

Welcome to Day 3 of MFT Teasers - also known as Pure Innocence day.  There are five super sweet new PI's being released and it was hard to pick just one to show you.  I love this particular stamp - You Color My World - but I must admit that it hurts my Canadian sensibilities to spell color without the "u" (colour).  But I'll get over it, especially since this set is so adorable.  

I kept my card super simple so as to concentrate on the image, and I channeled my inner Carole and used bright primary colo(u)rs.  The patterned papers are from Doodlebug and I used a matching Bazzill orange as well as some MFT Red Hot cardstock.  She's stamped on X-Press It blending cardstock.  I also used one of the new dies on this card - the Open Zig Zag border die.  I love the size and scale of it.  

Can I show you why I fell in love with this stamp?  Because of this:

Ack!  She's so cute I can hardly stand it.  And I can't believe this was almost 3 years ago.  

I finished the inside of my card off with the leftover part of my Open Zig Zag border - waste not, want not!  How cool that you basically get two dies in one!  I also used the Pretty Posies die to cut a flower for my inside.

April Sketch For You to Try!

Happy Saturday friends!  If you're looking for my MFT Teaser post - scroll down.  Otherwise, welcome to SFYTT's April sketch.  This month we're being sponsored by Unity Stamp Co. and I must admit that this is the first time I've used any of their stamps.  They are deeply etched rubber and come cling mounted so they're ready to go!  

For my card, I used Itty Bitty I'm Here.  I paired it with some MME Alphabet Soup papers and some Kraft cardstock.  I actually used some paper thin Birch to paper piece (wood piece? LOL) the inner part of the yo-yo.  A fun little detail and it took the copic ink really well too (especially considering it was red!).

MFT Teasers - Clearly Sentimental About Music

Welcome back to Day 2 of MFT Teasers!  

Today I want to show you a card that I made with Clearly Sentimental About Music.  This was last month's Triple Scoop set (free with the purchase of 3 full sized sets) but will be fully available for purchase on April 5th.  I also couldn't wait to use the new High Tea Doily.  I decided to use only a portion of it (ack - and now that I look at my card I see that I should have put the doily along the edge of my patterned paper) and cut it out of Bazzill Bling cardstock.  The die comes with a pop-out tool to help get all the little cut outs out of the die - it works really well and is a big time saver!  The papers are Echo Park Be Mine and I also used the new Pretty Posies Die-namic as well.

MFT Teasers - Own Your Story

Welcome to Day 1 of MFT Teasers for the April Release.  The sets and dies that are being released are fabulous and I'm excited to share them with you!  Today I'm showing you a new set called "Own Your Story".  This set is huge and is not only perfect for cardmaking, but also for scrapbooking too.  It has a matching die that coordinates with at least 4 stamps in the set.  

Here's my card using the new Four Point Frame as well as the new Pretty Posies die.  I also threw in the Hearts a Plenty die.  I just love that "chick" sentiment and can see using it for all kinds of friendship cards.  The papers are Jillibean Soup again - although I did rub some tea dye all over the paper so that it wasn't as bright.

Baby and Congrats Cards

Hey all!  I just wanted to pop by and share a couple of cards that I made for some special people.  

My son's teacher and his wife are expecting their first baby soon and so we're having a little class baby shower tomorrow - big surprise that I offered to make a card.  I used My How You've Grown Who's That Girl because I absolutely adore the image, and I thought this sentiment was totally appropriate for first time parents.  I used Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch and paired it with some MME Stella Rose papers as well as the Stacking Stars and Simply Scallops Die-namics dies.  Since we don't know the gender of the baby, I tried to keep it pretty neutral and these papers made it easy.   

I tried to keep the inside pretty simple since the kids will be signing their names all over.  I used a sentiment from Baby Bump and another Simply Scallops and Stacking Star.  

I also needed to make a Congratulations card for a friend.  Now you may be fooled by the front - but it really is a congrats card - just look at the inside.  I love the sentiments in this Sassy and Sweet stamp set and matching Sweet Stack Labels die set.  I used both animal prints on my layers and paired them with Echo Park Be Mine papers and some black rhinestones.  Since I had so much pattern going on, I kept the embellishments to a minimum.

  

See - here's the inside - it is a Congratulations card!  I also added a Simply Scallops strip and a flourish from the same Sassy & Sweet set.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #13

Lucky Number 13!!  That's right - it's the 13th sketch over at MFT and I'm playing along with this cute set by Claire Keay - Enjoy Every Moment.  I flipped the sketch upside down and used a speech bubble from the Say What stamp and die set instead of a sentiment flag.  I also snuck a Simply Scallops die in there too - and I see that I didn't stay true to the sketch, since my panel extends over the entire width of my card - oops!  The papers are all Jillibean Soup and I matched them up to Sno Cone and Gumdrop Green cardstocks.  

I finished the inside off with a sentiment from the set as well as the Die-namics Flower Border.

Hey all!  Happy Tuesday!  I'm popping in really quick to share a card I made with last week's Mojo Monday sketch and a set that I hadn't yet gotten inky - Pure Innocence You're So Tweet.  I stamped her on X-Press It blending cardstock and paired her with some Jillibean Soup papers.  I also matched the colours up to some MFT cardstock - both Banana Split and Sour Apple were perfect!

I finished the inside off with the Musical Notes die and the Small Scallop Border die as well as some more patterned paper.  The sentiment is actually from Pure Innocence Something Special Just For You.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - Spring Colours!

Woo hoo - it's Saturday!  This has seemed like the longest week ever!  Not sure why, but there it is.  Anyway, it's time for another challenge over on the Kraftin' Kimmie blog.  This challenge brings an end to my stint as a Krafty Guest and I just want to thank Kimmie - I've had such an amazing time!  

This week we're to use spring colours.  I was looking through all my papers, trying to pick out what I wanted to use, when I came across this Basic Grey Luscious paper pack.  And I know that everyone probably gravitates to pastel, easter colours, so I decided to pull out something a bit brighter.  It makes me think of daffodils and tulips - those are spring colours too right?  I paired it with a quote from the new Krafty Quotes #2 set and used a layout from Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch challenge.  

I kept it pretty simple - just adding a Simply Scallops strip (MFT) and some ribbon, brads, and rhinestones.  I hope you'll come play along with us for your chance to win free Kraftin' Kimmie stamps!  All the details can be found on the challenge blog along with links to all the other Krafty Girls and Guests playing along.

Still Time Left to Play!

Hey Everyone!  There's still plenty of time for you to play along with the March sketch over at Sketch For You to Try.  A whole week in fact.  So I thought I'd pop by to show you another card using this month's sketch.  


I used one of MFT's à la modes - Time To Celebrate and stamped her on X-Press It blending cardstock.  She's coloured with copics and paired with some MME Stella Rose papers and some Melon Mambo and Gumdrop Green cardstocks.    I kept this pretty simple - just adding some stitching, baby braddies and clear glaze pen.  

I decided to finish off the inside as well and used the Die-namics Simply Scallops die and a sentiment from the set.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #12

Hello all!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another MFT sketch challenge.  I loved this week's sketch and know that I'll be making more cards with this one.  This card was actually a special request for a friend of mine.  

I stamped Pure Innocence You Make the Grade on X-Press It blending cardstock and coloured with my copics.  I used a white prismacolor pencil and blended it with some gamsol to get the chalk residue on the blackboard.  I had been wanting to try it since I saw Amy do it on her card.  The papers are My Mind's Eye Stella Rose and I added a felt heart cut with the Hearts a Plenty die and a strip cut from the Simply Scallops die.

Because this is a birthday card, I used a sentiment from Pure Innocence Birthday Princess and another Simply Scallops strip.

Scrapbook Queens March Design Team Projects Part 2

Happy Tuesday!  I just wanted to pop by and share the rest of my March Scrapbook Queens projects using Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime papers.

For my first card I used the Sassy & Sweet stamp set and Sweet Stack Labels dies.  I clear embossed the animal print on Gumdrop Green cardstock.  I also used the 3/8" Rosette die to pleat the paper along the left side and added a Simply Scallops border in black along the bottom.  The layout is this month's dirty dozen sketch over at Splitcoast.

For my last card I used Inspired by Butterflies (currently being restocked) and kept it pretty simple.  Some stitching and brads and a popped up butterfly was all this one needed.

Scrapbook Queens March Design Team Projects Part 1

Happy Monday!  I wanted to pop by and share a couple of the cards I made with the Scrapbook Queens March design team kit.  This month we played with Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime papers.  I must admit to a little fear when I pulled them out - they're definitely not my usual style.  But I had fun working with them and I paired them with some MFT goodies.   

My first card uses Pure Innocence Butterfly Kisses as well as the Die-namics Butterflies die (currently being re-stocked).  This layout is actually this weeks WSC sketch and there's still time for you to play along.  Full details can be found here.  

For my second card I didn't want to cover this cute fairy paper, so I used a sentiment from Pure Innocence Believe in Magic and paired it with the Framed Greetings stamp and die set.
