Happy Friday to you!  So happy it's the end of the week and that we're continuing with MFT Teasers!  We're on to Day 3 and today I have a card for you featuring last month's Triple Scoop set - Clearly Sentimental About Romance.  The Triple Scoop reward is a free set that you get when you spend $60.  This was last month's triple scoop set and will be fully released and available to purchase on Feb. 7th.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the set onto one of the banners from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics.  I then layered it onto the new Oval Dainty Doily Duo and the new Vertical Greetings Die-namics.  I also used parts of the new Botanical Beauty Die-namics and some MFT felt to make my flower.

MFT Teasers - Inspired by Up, Up & Away Die-namics

Welcome back to Day 2 of MFT Teasers for the February release.  All the new stamps and dies will be released on Tues. Feb. 7th. and you can come back each day until then for new teasers.  Links to all the designers sharing projects are over on the MFT blog.

Today I kept with my clean and simple trend and made these new dies shine!  That's right - hot air balloon dies designed to match the balloons from the Inspired by Up, Up & Away set.  Cool, right?  They are aptly named Up, Up & Away Die-namics.  I found this fun cloud paper in one of my MME 6x6 pads and decided it would be perfect.  I stamped a sentiment from the set in one of the cloud shapes and added a bit of stitching.  I love how easy it is to come up with quick and easy cards that have big impact, by using these matching stamp and die sets.

MFT Teasers - Let's Chat!

Welcome to Day 1 of MFT Teasers for the February release!  I can't believe that it is already Feb. 1st.  Where did January go?  This month (like all months really!) we have a fabulous release for you and today we're previewing this month's new Who's That Girl set - Let's Chat.

I stamped her on X-Press It blending cardstock and coloured her with my copics.  I paired her with some Lily Bee papers and this week's Card Patterns sketch (sponsored by MFT).  I used the new Monarch Border Die-namics as well as the new Chat Bubbles Die-namics.

I wanted to add some texture to her sweater so I pulled out an old eyelash wool scarf that was in my "to donate" bin.  I spritzed some copic blending solution on it and held it to my image.  I'm not sure if you can see, but it created a neat, fuzzy texture.  I also coated her phone with my Sakura Clear Glaze pen to give in a sheen.  I just received my new copic colours so was inspired to pull out V22 and V28 to go with the previously released V20 and V25.  They all blended together beautifully!

I stamped another sentiment inside the card, as well as a couple of the cute accessory stamps in the set.

January Sketch For You To Try Wrap Up!

It's almost the end of the month but you still have time to sneak your entry in for January's SFYTT.  You can find all the details over on Jen's blog.  And of course we'll be back on Saturday with a brand new sketch for February!

I've been trying to do some more clean and simple stamping lately so I figured I'd keep it going with this card.  I used MFT's Pure Innocence Start the Day with Whee! and switched out the circle for an oval shape.  The papers are some older Echo Park (Walk in the Park I think?) and I added a flower cut with the Die-namics Prima Donna Petals.

I finished the inside off with a sentiment from the set and a matching piece of patterned paper cut with the Die-namics Fresh Cut Grass.

As a reminder, here's this month's sketch.  You still have a couple of days to play along!  I'll see you back here on Saturday for a brand new sketch!  Thanks for stopping by!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - Handmade Embellishments

Happy weekend!  Today sure felt like a long time coming, but we made it!  And it's time for our weekly Kraftin' Kimmie challenge.  This week the amazing Melanie is our hostess and she wants us to use handmade embellishments on our projects.

I decided to keep it simple this week and went for a bit of a clean & simple look.  In fact, I tried my hand at a one layer card.  I stamped Lovely Lulu onto some Kraft paper and coloured her with my copics.  I do find that I need to use slightly darker colours with Kraft (i.e. my skin colours are E00, E11, and E13 - darker than I'd usually use on white cardstock).  I cut a couple flowers out of felt using a die, and cut a button with another die.  I layered them all together - and voila!  I played around with a sentiment for a bit, but just couldn't find a placement I was happy with - so I left it off.

You can see all the fabulous challenge cards from the Krafty Girls over on the challenge blog.  I hope you'll play along - you could win a stamp from Kitty Kapers!  Thanks for stopping by!

MFT/Scor-Pal Blog Hop

I'm super excited to share today's post with you!  MFT and Scor-Pal have teamed up together to do a joint blog hop!  Both the MFT and Scor-Pal designers have cooked up some fabulous projects for you showing just how well they work together!

You can find links to all the designers sharing projects today both on the MFT Blog and on the Scor-Pal Blog.  I hope you'll hop around and take in the eye candy!

I had spied a cute little iphone printable valentine quite a while ago on a blog I frequent (LivingLocurto) and decided it was the perfect inspiration to pull out my I Need Some Face Time à la mode!

The printable is designed to be cut and scored and wrapped around a box of conversation hearts (clever, no?).  But I decided to cut the front of the wrapper off and use it as the image panel for my box.  I used my Scor-Pal (and some instructions from SCS) to create a slider box.  I tried to keep the colours muted - as I was inspired by the iphone itself.  I love how the Scor-Pal makes such clean, crisp score lines and the measurements make creating 3D items a breeze!  I also used Scor-Tape to adhere my box together.  What I love most about this tape is that you can tear it.  The less time I spend searching for my scissors on my desk, the better!

Here's the box slid partly open.  I filled it with some yummy dark chocolate pomegranate candies.

Here's a close up of my card.  I decided to keep it fairly simple and try a background technique that's been on my "to do" list for a while now.  I cut out a whole bunch of numbers using the By The Numbers Die-namics and glued them to cardstock of the same colour.

I love the subtle yet interesting texture it gives the card!

I also gave her iphone a good coat of Glossy Accents, to make the whole thing shiny and more realistic.

I finished the inside off with a sentiment I created using the By The Letters Die-Namics and the Hearts A Plenty Die-namics.  I also stamped a sentiment from the I Need Face Time à la mode set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - I'm so glad that you did!  I hope you'll pop over to Scor-Pal to check out their fabulous products if you haven't already!

Sketch For You To Try - times two!

Happy Saturday!  This year Sketch For You To Try is providing even more inspiration to entice you to play along!  Here's my second sample with this month's fabulous sketch!

This month we're sponsored by The Cat's Pyjamas so I pulled out this cute set - Like You A Latte.  I just love this little guy's sticky-upy hair and his big mitts.  I stamped him on X-Press It blending cardstock and coloured him with my copics.  I paired him with some My Mind's Eye Stella Rose papers and added a felt heart and button, as well as some twine.

Remember that all the details for SFYTT can be found on Jen's blog, as well as the linky tool to link up your project!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #55

Welcome back to another week of MFT's Wednesday stamp club.  I love this week's sketch - nice and simple which I was actually craving.  I kept my card pretty simple (as simple as I get anyway!) and pulled out one of my fave stamps - Little Loveosaurus.

I stamped him on X-Press It blending cardstock and coloured him with my copics.  When I was done, I wet a terry cloth rag with some copic blender solution and held it against my image to get that mottled/speckled look.  This is one of my fave things to do with blender solution!  The papers are all My Mind's Eye Stella Rose and I didn't want too much contrast between the two different designs behind my image panel, so I picked two different lined/ledger papers.  I cut some MFT cork with the Die-namics Stacking Stars.

I finished off the inside of my card by stamping my little monster again (in Memento Tuxedo Brown ink) and a sentiment from the set (love that font!!).

Here's this week's sketch!

Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog and the MFT forum on SCS (look for the most recent WSC thread). You'll need to upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch. You will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money. One winner is chosen at random each week!

MFT VIP - PI Classic Kids

It's time again for this month's MFT VIP kit!  This is your chance to snap up two of February's new stamp releases and one new Die-namic die,  a whole 2 weeks before they are released to the general public.  This is a limited quantity product - when they're gone, they're gone!  You can find them right HERE - they're available now!

This month we have another couple of Pure Innocence cuties for you.  My first card is made with Violin Girl and I also paired her with the Die-namics included in this month's kit - the Monarch Border die.  This is a smaller size than the Monarch die released last month.  I used papers from October Afternoon Sidewalks and this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout.  I also brought out my Die-namics Musical Notes die to add some embellishment.

I finished the inside off with a sentiment from the free Classic Kids Sentiments mini which is only available with the VIP kit and will never be offered again.  I just love this saying!

I couldn't help but make another card when I saw this cute Blowing Bubbles girl.  I don't know about you but my kids LOVE blowing bubbles.  In the spring it's not unusual for us to go through bottles and bottles of bubble solution.

I loved Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch from this week and decided to crop my cutie a little so she'd fit in a smaller circle.  I mounted her over one of the flags from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics and used the same OA Sidewalks paper as my first card.  I paper pieced her skirt and top with some of the patterned papers as well.

Again,I finished the inside of the card off with a sentiment from the free mini set as well as using the accessory bubbles stamp that comes in the set.

Hey what are you waiting for?  To see all the designers in action, make sure you check out the MFT blog for links to everyone!  And go shop!  Quick, before they're all gone!  I'll see you back here tomorrow for the MFT sketch challenge.
