February Krafty Release Hop

Well welcome back!  It’s Krafty RELEASE Day at KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS!  And we’re celebrating with a KRAFTY HOP!

Krafty Peeks - Sherlock Holmes!

Welcome back to Day FIVE of the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps February previews!  So are you here for a new challenge or are you here to check out the brand new ANNIE stamps for FEBRUARY 2013? Well, not to worry! We've got BOTH!  Not only do we have a new weekly challenge but we also have SIX new AWESOME stamps!

I used Sherlock Holmes for my card and kept it pretty simple.  I always have trouble embellishing my masculine cards!  I paper pieced his hat and cloak with some plaid papers from an Echo Park This & That paper pad.  I also used co-ordinating papers for the other layers.  Easy peasy!

Krafty Peeks - Somebunny Loves You!

Welcome back to day four of our FEBRUARY Kraftin' Kimmie Peeks!  Today we are excited to share TWO ADORABLE new sets by artist Cheryl Alger!  You'll recognize these characters from previous sets.....Lulu, Lexi and Lucas!  And they are just as cute as can be!  These new sets are.......LIL' BUCKAROOS and SOMEBUNNY LOVES YOU!

I've used Lulu holding an Easter basket from the set and coloured her up with my copics to match the Doodlebug papers that I chose.  I stayed pretty true to the sketch and didn't add any embellishments - I figured there was a lot going on with the patterned papers and didn't want to overwhelm.

Here I've used this super cute girl with a backpack and paired her with this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  The papers are some older My Mind's Eye and I added some buttons and natural trim.  I also used some felt grass on the bottom panel rather than a scalloped edge like the sketch called for.  Just wait until you see the other images in this set - super cute!

Krafty Peeks - Bookworm Trinkets!

Well it's Day TWO of our Krafty Peeks at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Are ya ready for more?

Today we’d like to introduce all you READERS to a beautiful new set of Trinkets!  We are very excited to share with you our GORGEOUS….BOOKWORM TRINKETS!

These circular sentiment stamps have been created and designed by the totally talented Krafty Girl, Nicole Aspinall!! They are made especially to fit in your 1 3/8ths and 1 ¾ inch punches, for quick and easy cutting!  This month we are releasing the BOOKWORM TRINKETS set which includes EIGHT trinkets in each set! You will get the set as a completely unmounted full sheet of deeply etched grey rubber.

I absolutely love these trinkets!  I read a lot and I read fast!  If I love a book, I can finish it in an afternoon.  I think that's why I fell in love with this particular trinket.  I've been known to stay up into the wee hours of the morning to finish a book.  I coloured it with my copics and mounted it on another circle and a scalloped circle.  I used the corner bookmark tutorial from Splitcoast stampers.  I love this particular book mark because I can slip it onto the cover while I'm reading (so I don't lose it - I'm forever misplacing bookmarks!).  I used Doodlebug papers and matching Washi tape.  I can see that I neglected to show you the inner part of the bookmark - where there's a pretty scalloped edge and some more patterned paper - oops!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - Love is in the Air!

Kraftin' Kimmie Peeks & Texture Challenge!

Welcome back for another awesome challenge here at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!  And today we have an extra special treat!  We are releasing our new Krafty Klubhouse Kit this weekend, so we've combined the new images with this week's challenge.  Just wait 'til ya see!

This week's challenge is TEXTURE!  So create a card, scrapbook page or altered item using some texure....burlap, embossing, linen, fabric, anything that adds some texture to your creations.  Get kreative! I've used this adorable cat image from the kit and paired it with a burlap panel for texture.  I just love the look on kitty's face!  Priceless!  And of course I know what will happen next - have you ever tried to give a cat a bath?!  The papers are from My Mind's Eyes and I added a die cut charm and sentiment flag as well as some stitching.

Krafty Peeks - Feathers & Fur!

Today Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps is previewing an EXCLUSIVE Moonlight Whispers stamp set! FEATHERS AND FUR is the newest of our special Krafty Klubhouse Kits…..we’ve been releasing a new one every few months and this is our first one for 2013!

I've used this super cute dog image from the set and actually stamped it on Kraft paper rather than white cardstock.  I coloured it with my copics (when you colour on kraft cardstock you may have to use deeper colours than you might normally use) and did just a bit of shading with my prismacolor pencils.  The papers are from the Doodlebug Lovebirds 6x6 pad and I added a little bit of matching washi tape under my heart.  I adore this sentiment, but it there's a couple of others included in the set as well.

I've used one of Annie's new stamps today - called Bookworm!  This is SO me!  Although sometimes I read on my Kobo and sometimes on my Ipad.  I still love the smell and feel of a real book though.  I kept my card simple and just used a fishtail die cut and some black crystals for embellishment.  The papers are My Mind's Eye Lost & Found 3 - Oliver.  I'm a sucker for plaids!

I've used Computer Nerd and paired him up with some Doodlebug Boys Only papers.  I paper pieced his shirt and added some metal brads and a library clip for embellishments.  Have you ever had a card where everything kept going wrong?  This was that kind of card for me.  Regardless, I love this stamp!

I love these new little bots but this one pretty much begged me to ink it up (do your stamps talk to you?!  LOL!).  She reminded me so much of Rosie from the Jetsons that I had to google and colour her to match!  The papers are all MME and I added some fabulous mesh ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.  As an aside, I was trying to remember the movie "Batteries Not Included" but kept confusing it with "Short Circuit".  Do you remember that one?  "Number 5 is alive!"  I loved that movie as a kid!  Anyway.... I digress!

I chose to use Lulu from the new Love is the Best Medicine set.  I've been seeing this very image in my house quite regularly the past couple of weeks.  It seems like there's lots of germs and sickness going around everywhere, so I know this set will get a lot of use from me!  I coloured Lulu to match my MME papers and added some SU ruffled ribbon and some matching embellishments.  I also pulled out my corner rounder to give one of the panels some visual interest.

Krafty Peeks - Handmade Trinkets

Well it's 2013 and Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is startin' things off with a BANG! We have tons of awesome new stamps for our first release of the year AND we're having our very first ONLINE RELEASE PARTY! It's happening this SATURDAY at our Facebook fan page....and you can get ALL the details HERE!  All the new stamps we're sharing over the next few days will be released on SATURDAY NIGHT!

We are kicking off the *New* JANUARY Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps previews today and first off, we’d like to introduce you to a beautiful new set of Trinkets!  We are very excited to share with you our GORGEOUS….HANDMADE TRINKETS!

Gosh - I had such a hard time deciding which trinkets to use first.  But I decided to make a tag to attach to the Banana Loaf that I was going to make especially for this picture.  But unfortunately, ran out of time to make.  So just pretend the tag is attached to a beautiful loaf of banana bread, k?!  I coloured up Lulu and paired her with a shipping tag and some October Afternoon Modern Homemaker papers.  I sponged the edges of the papers and added some twine.

I also couldn't resist inking up artist Lulu as well.  I coloured her up, matted her with a petite scallop nestability and added her to the back of one of my cards.  Cute, no?!

Krafty Challenge - Keep Cozy!

Welcome back to another Kraftin' Kimmie challenge!  This week Elaine has challenged us to make a card around the theme of "Keep Cozy" or to use a warm, cozy, colour scheme.  I really wanted to use this super sweet Lucas stamp from the Snow Day Lucas set, so you'll just have to get creative with my theme!  Perhaps something along the lines of..."He's warm and cozy in his snowsuit!" or maybe.... "He's got a warm and cozy heart!".  Those both work, right?!

I paired Lucas up with some Basic Grey Aspen papers and a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  I added some stitching, brads and rhinestones and called it all good!

I've used one of the adorable Party Monsters and paired him up with some bright, fun papers.  I just love that one eye and tongue!  That's my kind of monster!  This is an older layout from Retro Sketches and I added a button and sentiment flag for embellishment (big surprise - seems to be my embellishment of choice these days!).
